"Im just saying, she might like me more than she likes you if you do share me"

"Oh hell no."

Ruby tried to fall asleep. She was tired from the day, and the drama surrounding Lapis and Jasper was too much for her, so her first instinct was to doze off and forget about it. Instead, she was kept awake by the yelling next door coming from Lapis's room. Was Sapphire still in there? Ruby walked out to the railing, stepping quietly towards the room. She was only wearing a sports bra and shorts, but she really didn't care.
She knocked on the door, the yelling coming to a complete stop. Sapphire opened it.
"Hey sweetie, what's up?" She answered.
"Nothing, Sapph. Is everything alright in there? You okay?" Ruby asked, stepping closer to Sapphire.
Sapphire shook her head, then stepped outside. The door closed behind her. She pulled Ruby close, holding her in a tight hug and nuzzling her neck. Ruby hugged her back, confused but still grateful for the gesture.
"Ruby, do you love me?" Sapphire spoke, her tone clearly being loud enough to be heard by Lapis.
"Of course I do, Sapphire. Is something wro-"
Sapphire cut her off.
"Do you love me enough to never EVER cheat on me with anyone, for example, my sister?"
"I would never cheat on you, especially not with your sister."
Ruby finally understood what was going on.
Sapphire carefully opened the door to see Lapis inside with the most embarrassed look on her face.
"Sorry, sis. I guess you were right. Ruby wouldn't cheat on you for me, even though I'm obviously the hot one." Lapis muttered, still drunk.
"Go to bed, Lapis." Sapphire hollered at her.
"Can do. Night~"

Ruby and Sapphire went back into their own room, Sapphire dressed in her usual pink silk nightgown. They both laid in bed and whispered little things to each other about the day's events. Ruby was completely startled by everything, but, as usual, Sapphire was calm and collected.
"How do you do it?" Ruby whispered, her fingers twirling a lock of her girlfriend's hair.
"Do what?" Sapphire answered back, doing the same with Ruby's curls.
"Stay calm, even when your sister does all of these things."
"I just don't pay attention to it. Ruby, I trust you enough to have no doubt when it comes to whether or not you would hurt me on purpose. If I didn't have that trust, I wouldn't have accepted your engagement ring."
She fluttered her fingers in front of Ruby's face, specifically the hand with the ring. The moonlight hit her blue nail polish in just the right way, making it look like the starry night sky. The taller girl quickly took Sapphire's hand and kissed it, trailing up her arm with the delicate smooches. She soon reached her shoulders then her collarbone, stopping right at the center of her neck. She nibbled a bit on the skin, making Sapphire shudder and gasp. The shorter girl giggled and moved her off, there was a playful look in her eyes.

"Not tonight."
