I had been sitting on the bed in my room, completely confused about everything. This isn’t like me. Waves of guilt invaded my brain.

You shouldn’t even feel guilty. He’s not even dead. He tried to kill you and Jason. He’s on Rick’s side. He’s your enemy now.

But he had feelings for me, was that even real?

Why should it even matter? I’m not even interested in him the slightest bit.

I only wish I could speak to him, just ask him why he’d do such a thing.

I've been in this room for three days, refusing to come out. I don’t want to speak to anyone.

I don’t want to talk to anyone. I feel horrible.

There was a knock on my door.

“Eliza, it’s me, Alex. Jason wants to see you.”

I got up and opened the door, brushing past her. She grabbed my arm.

“Are you alright? No one’s seen you in three days. Have you eaten anything?” She asked. Come to think of it, I haven’t eaten a thing. It’s awkward because I’m always up for something to eat but recently, I lost my appetite.

“I-uh… I’m fine….Could use something to eat…” I slurred.

“Is that it? Are you sure? I’m just worried about you. You shouldn’t worry about Brian, he’s-

“Alexandria, I’m fine.” I said, pulling my arm away, but not hard. “I’m just a little hungry.”

“Alright, I’ll go get you something to eat from the kitchen.” She said before turning on her heel and walking away. She’s only looking out for me. I should at least talk to her.

I went into Jason’s office where he had been sitting with Austin, talking.

“Finally.” Jason huffed. “I thought you were never gonna come out of that room.”

“I just needed some time alone. That’s all.” I explained.

“Sit down.” He told me. I sighed heavily because the only seat that was there was the one next to Austin.

“So what’s up?” I asked, sitting down.

“So as you know, Adrian is being held captive by Zhang. The mission is to get Adrian back. I’m sending you, Alex, Austin, Eric, Delilah, and Vincent. That’s 6 of my best members that I trust.” He explained. Delilah and Vincent?

“But I’m not the best...” I slurred.

“After that stunt you pulled a few days back, I think you’ll be fine. I’ve never seen anyone do that before. Not even Alex. She mostly specializes in martial arts.”  He explained.

What I did a couple days ago was out of anger. It was reckless and was barely thought out. Actually, it wasn’t really thought out at all. It kind of just happened.

“I’m still not sure about this…” I said quietly.

“Well you have to go. The deal they proposed was that we hand you over in order to get Adrian back. However, I’m not going to let them take you. But things would look off if you didn’t show up at all. The only reason that I only called you two in here because the others already know. Also, Austin, it is your responsibility to protect her at all times during this mission.” Jason went on.
