"Ow, that fucking burns!" Austin winced as I patted his wounds with a wet cloth.
"Stop being a baby." I said as I dipped the cloth in the medicine.
"Stop making it hurt." He retorted.
It had been two weeks since Austin was released from the hospital and he's getting much better- minis the fact that he still has to put medicine on his wounds so they can heal faster.
"Well if you would just hold still-ahh!" I said as he slapped my hand away lightly.
"Just let me sleep." He said slamming his face down onto the pillow.
"Austin it's five in the afternoon. " I groaned. He had been taking a nap but I woke him up because it was time to change his bandages.
"Eliza please just come lay down with me and forget about the stupid bandages."
"It'll only take a second and then we can do whatever you want. " I reasoned. It was the same thing everyday since what happened. He'd protest about how he was fine when he obviously wasn't, refused to have me help him with anything and the struggle throughout the day was getting him to hold still to take his medicine and change his bandages. He stayed home all day and rested. He lost so much blood that day that it'll take him a while to get back on his feet. He could barely walk when he got home from the hospital other than limping and sliding his feet across the ground.
He's been mostly sleepy and always getting headaches and chest pains. And I'm just here, helping him get back on his feet and doing anything I can to help him because I care so much.
He sat up, grunting in pain a bit.
"Go ahead." He said leaning his arms back straight and resting them on the bed.
I nodded, continuing to pat the cloth on his wounds.
He was quiet and his face looked so plain and tired.
"Its gonna take if a lot sleeping and eating right and a good amount of exercise to get back to your good old self." I said before beggining to wrap his wounds up.
"Mhmm." He said.
"I'm sorry that you have to look after me for so long." He said quietly.
"You don't have to apologize. I don't have a problem with it at all." I said.
"And I'm sorry you have to take care of me." He completely ignored what I said.
"It's fine. I want to. I just get so scared nowadays and I wanna make sure you're okay. After everything that's happened, I can't help but feel even more worried about you." I admitted.
"I've been more focused about what's best for you. " He spoke up.
I looked up at him, just finishing wrapping up his injuries.
"What? Austin I am perfectly fine. Don't worry about me, just focus on getting better. " I said, waving him off.
"No. Eliza I need you to promise me something. " He says turning to look at me.
"What?" I ask curiously.
"You are going to stop working XLX missions and also, the plan against the D.O.E. I don't want you to have anything to do with it anymore. " He said, his tone serious and intense.
"What?! You can't, the plan against the D.O.E is the whole reason I'm here! It was MY idea!" I said.
"We almost died, Eliza. I can't let you go back home either. They'll take you away. The safest place from the D.O.E is here. The safest place from anywhere is here. Until everything is over, you're going to stay here." He spoke up.
