31. The Others

Austin's POV

The fabric of my pillow pressed against my head as I turned into a more comfortable position. I hadn't heard from Eliza in two days.

I assumed she was fine. Probably just hanging out with her father.

The news was on. Something about a group of people who had been killing a series of people.

They were called the D.O.E. I shrugged and shut the tv off, slamming my head back onto my pillow.

There was loud banging on my door which made me press the pillow against my head even further.

"Austin, Jason wants to see you." Alex roared through the wooden door. I failed to understand why she adored getting up so early.

"Why?"  I practically yelled through the puffiness of the pillow.

"I don't know and I don't care. Get the fuck up And go see for yourself. " She yelled anxiously.

I groaned only to hear her mumble a small 'shut up' through the door.

I rolled out of bed and onto the floor with a large thump.

"Ow." I said to myself.

I sluggishly sat up and slammed my hand on the night stand, slowly pulling my phone to me.

I had about 12 missed calls from Eliza.

What could she possibly need?

I sighed.

At least I know she cares.

I dialed her number while I slowly stood up, only to have my body fall back groggily onto the bed.

I hate mornings.

It rang and I waited. The constant ringing made me irritated. Why wasn't she answering?

On what sounded like the last ring, someone picked up.

"Finally." A deep raspy voice answered into the phone. "You know, most heroes don't take this long to actually come save the girl."

I thought it was my brain playing tricks on me.

Definitely wasn't Eliza.

"Who are you and what did you do with her?!" I growled into the phone.

"That's not any way to talk to your brothers, now is it?" Another voice chuckled.

"Drew, Brian, where is she?!" I growled again.

Yeah, you heard right. Drew and Brian are my half older brothers. 2 years apart. Same dad, different mothers.

"She's here, with us. Dad wants you to join us. If you do, the girl gets to go. If you don't, we kill her. You know the place, if you bring reinforcements, we'll kill her. You have 24 hours." Drew explained.

"Maybe we shouldn't kill her, just take her innocence. That would really get to him." Brian said, while a faint voice weeped in the background.

Eliza's POV

"Don't fucking touch me?!" I screamed. Brian's hand roamed my body, squeezing parts of my chest harshly.

I kicked him with my free leg. I tried to swing my arm to punch him, but the chains stopped me.

He fell back from my kick though.

"Austin!" I screamed as loud as I could so he could hear me from across the room on the phone.
