SCARS AND JOY

"Erin," she whispered gazing into the eyes of the gentleman. Tears rapidly fell down her soft tan cheeks.

"Paige," the boy shouted overjoyed.

Paige threw down her gun and began running toward her beloved. Erin ran to her as well. Upon coming into contact Erin held Paige tightly crying." I thought I would never see you again. I was on my own all this time."

Paige withdrew from his hold and looked at him." I'm sorry you had to go through what you went through on your own. I'm here now." She hugged him again. She was happy. He held her tightly and whisked her into the air smiling. He finally brought her down trying to kiss her. Paige noticed Conner's gaze and instead of kissing his lips she kissed his left cheek and buried her face in his neck hugging him tightly. After a while she released him.

Everyone smiled at him. Erin looked a bit confused to see Conner but he smiled." Erin, this is Lisa and this is Alexis. They are my sisters."

"Paige," his face looked stunned a bit." You wait for the end of the world to introduce me to your sisters." He laughed." Nice to meet you. I'm glad you were with Paige." He then walked over to James and Blake and hugged them." James, Blake it's good to see you."

"It's great to see you bro," James said.

"We're happy you're okay," Blake joined.

Paige stood next to Conner." Erin," she called out," Conner took care of us."

Erin walked over to where Paige and Conner were standing. He hugged Conner and then offered his hand." Conner I'm sorry I was a jerk to you at school. Thank you for protecting them. Thank you for keeping them alive and bringing my Paige back to me. I'm forever in debt and I hope we can be friends. No not friends, brothers," he smiled." You're my brother now." He hugged him again.

"No problem bro. It was and is an honour to take to take care of them." He smiled at Paige." I'm happy you're okay."

Paige smiled back overwhelmed and overjoyed. She avoided thinking about the fact that she had feelings for the both of them. Right now she had found Erin and that's all that mattered besides she wasn't in a position of thinking about relationships. Just then Erin's stance started to seem shaky like he was about to fall. Conner held him." Are you okay bro?"

He looked at Paige and smiled." I'm fine," he said giving a smile that wasn't convincing.

"Let me see," she said.

"See what?" Erin asked.

"Where you got hurt."

"Love I'm fine. I promise."

Paige gave him a stern look." Erin,"

"Okay I'll show you." He raised his shirt revealing a huge bruise on his back.

Paige started looking concerned and sad." Oh no. I was actually hurting you when I hugged you. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."

"Paige no. It's okay. I'm good."

"You don't look so good. Let me bandage you. Sit down."

"No Paige it's cool."

"Sit down! Lisa can you hand me the first aid kit."

"Okay," she replied opening the bag and taking out the kit.

Erin finally sat down. He took off his shirt. Paige began applying medication on his wounds. Conner looked at them as she helped Erin. Erin kept grinning looking at his girlfriend. Clearly uncomfortable with the scenario he left Paige to help Erin. He went to the supply bag and took out a shirt. Paige was noticing his actions through the corner of her eye. Conner handed the the shirt to Alexis. Alexis then came with the shirt to Paige." Here you go," she said.

"Thanks Lexi," she said with a warm smile. Paige quickly bandaged him. She then took a face towel and cleaned the dirt off his face. He just stared at her, his dark brown eyes glowing with joy. Paige felt sad for him. He was alone all this time. How could he comprehend whatever he went through by himself. She then used the towel to remove the dirt on his hair until the normal wavy golden glow was visible. After that she handed him the fresh shirt. He put it on and stood up.

"Uhmm. We should keep moving," Conner said awkwardly.

"Yeah let's move," Paige confirmed.

"Where are we going?" Erin asked.

"A place where we'll be safe."
