That night Blake was finding it difficult to sleep. He kept on tossing and turning. This annoyed James whom he shared the bedroom with.
"Dude what's wrong with you?" James asked."I don't know. I just feel unstable," he answered.
"Now what's bothering the coolest high school sophomore I know?" James asked before yawning.
"I don't know."
"Maybe it's anxiety about your sweet 16. It will be perfect, I promise."
"No it's not that. I just have a bad feeling like I'm not safe."
"Okay, let's go."
"Where?" Blake asked standing up.
"To Paige."
"Why?"
"She knows how to calm you down more than me," James responded.
"Okay."
They went to their sister's room which was down the hall. They knocked at the door and she let them in.
"What's wrong?""Blake can't sleep. He keeps ranting about feeling unsafe. I told him that it might be anxiety because of his birthday. I think you know how to knock some sense into him more than me."
"What's wrong B?" Paige asked as he rushed her hand through Blake's dark hair.
"I don't know?" Blake responded with his brown eyes fixed on her.
"Okay, what are you feeling?"
"I feel unsafe."
"B we're so safe. You heard Dad's story, our city is peaceful. There's nothing that should make you feel unsafe."
"That's what I thought," James pointed out.
"Okay," Paige responded with an annoyed look," B you just have to calm down."
"Paige I wouldn't be telling you if it wasn't serious. I barely share emotions."
"That's because you try to maintain your cool status."
"Exactly, so why would I be sharing this with you?"
"Yeah, it's serious."
"Should we tell mom and dad?" James asked with an alarmed look on his face.
"No."
"Okay. Blake you need to know that you're safe. Try to sleep."
"Okay," Blake said.
The boys went back to their room. Paige was worried and opted to follow them. She told them that she would sleep on the bedroom couch. After a long struggle, Blake finally fell asleep. James and Paige were awake, both looking at Blake. They waited until he was in a state of deep sleep.
"What's wrong with him?" James asked."Honestly I don't know," Paige answered.
"When we were up the roof he was asking whether the peace would end."
Paige looked at Blake, her chocolate brown eyes full of concern." I know. He's actually concerned that something will disturb the peace."
"That's strange. We live in a society that has last experienced war centuries ago. After that long I don't think anything bad will pop up from nowhere," James responded with a concerned tone.
"I know. I actually don't get why he's so worked up and anxious. Yes bad things can happen but..."
"Do you think that something might disrupt the peace?" James asked before she could finish her sentence.
"I don't know. I don't think so but you can never know," Paige answered with an expression that seemed to show confusion and fear.
"Now I'm totally freaked out. Blake has gone all Prophet of doom and you are not being your optimistic self. This is bad. You're accepting that there is a possibility of disruption of peace," James responded with an emotional look on his face.
Paige laughed." I'm just tripping with you. It's so easy to get you scared. What were you thinking? You thought that Voldemort would suddenly resurrect and come to destroy us?"
"I think you should stop reading that book over and over again. I'm seriously debating whether I should sign you up for therapy because your mind is twisted. I'm now tired of your lack of sanity, let's sleep."
The two finally slept but James knew that Paige just said what she said to calm him down. Paige felt a bit frustrated because of Blake. She didn't know what was wrong with him. She was the first born so Blake was basically her responsibility. After some time she finally fell asleep. She had a dream that seemed to be a great one at first but ended up being a disturbing nightmare. She was sitting on the roof with her brothers, enjoying the twilight. After sometime the scenery changed, she saw people running like rats but she couldn't make up what was the cause of the panic. She then felt her leg in pain. She couldn't move. She looked at her leg and saw an arrow. She then saw her brothers trying to help her move but the attempt ended dismally. James and Blake were shot and they fell down. Paige could barely scream in shock. She yelled out her brothers names in tears. At that moment she woke up to see James by her bed.
"P you scared me. Are you okay? You were screaming in your sleep."Paige looked at her brother and embraced him. " I thought I lost you."
"It was a bad dream that's all."
"Promise me you'll never leave me."
"Creep I have to leave the house at some point," he said laughing.
"No you jerk, I mean dying before you're old."
"I'm not leaving any time soon," he responded.
Paige smiled when she saw Blake sleeping peacefully. James went back to his bed. "Now can you sleep well. Don't go all crazy person on me too." Paige nodded. "Good. Now we sleep." They all finally slept in bliss.
I'm sorry that my chapters are a bit short. I'm trying my best to make them longer. What did you think about Paige's dream? I hope you found it to be epic. I seriously now like the word epic. Ever since I watched The vampire diaries I was feeling epic the word is now my favourite. I would like to dedicate this chapter to Real_Worda for the advice and criticism which I found to be very useful in improving my story. Thank you. I hope everyone is having an epic day. Don't forget to vote :-)
