Paige woke up to see sunlight illuminate her tan skin. Her brown eyes noticed Conner admiring her from where he was seated. He quickly changed the direction of his gaze to seem as if he wasn't looking at her. He then turned to look at her, put on an amazed expression." Oh. You're finally awake."

Paige couldn't help but give out a laugh. It was weak but still a laugh." I slept all night. I'm sorry," she now looked sad," I didn't even take a lookout shift."

"Hey it's okay. Blake, James and I helped each other."

She looked around." Where's everyone?"

"They are in the kitchen. They wanted to make a homemade breakfast."

"James and Blake are cooking!" Paige laughed." They are probably doing it to get closer to the girls. Those sly dogs."

"Aren't I a sly dog?"

"Considering the fact that you sat there stalking me in my sleep I can call you a creep." She laughed." Why were you here anyway?"

"I wanted to keep you safe," his face looked slightly embarrassed and nervous," you were peaceful in your sleep. It's the only place you seem okay so I wanted to make sure no danger comes to you whilst you're at peace."

Paige smiled." Thank you Conner. Don't be embarrassed. You've been truly good to me. A knight in shining armour really. Thank you."

Conner smiled." You're welcome dove."

"For once in a long time it feels partially normal, someone in the kitchen cooking," she sighed," sleeping and waking up alive and well, knowing we're safe."

Conner looked depressed. Paige noticed. He looked as if he was trying to find a way to take away her pain." Conner," she reached for his hand," it's okay."

Conner looked at her, his eyes telling her something." Paige I'm sorry. When you hold me like that I feel something." Paige removed her hand." I know you think that these feelings are emerging because we're in a life and death situation but I don't think so. I'm sorry but I just had to tell you. I feel like I knew you all my life." Paige looked sad and annoyed. She knew she had to tell him that they were close when they were kids. Conner wasn't pleased to see her looking sad." I'm sorry. I just get carried away with you. If Erin feels the way I know I feel about you I won't come in between you."

"Conner," she called out his name gently in an annoyed tone.

"I know, I know. I promised not to say things like that."

"Let's go and see how the cooking is going," she said to change the subject.

"Okay," he nodded.

They went into the kitchen." You're awake. Paige you look like a monkey. You didn't even bother to freshen up," Blake teased his sister. Paige looked annoyed and was advancing toward Blake as if she wanted to poke his eye." Don't come any closer with your morning breath." Everyone laughed.

"Okay fine. I'll go freshen up." She left the kitchen and went into the bathroom. She took a quick shower. She brushed her hair and teeth. Paige looked into the mirror. The memory of her mother brushing her hair and telling her to trust her rushed into her mind. Paige thought to herself that she actually allowed her mother to proceed with something bad. Her chocolate brown eyes kept on gazing on the mirror for a while. She finally broke away from her trance when she noticed that she had left the sink water running to the extent that it overflowed to the floor. She was truly out of order. Her mind was completely out of it. She closed the tap quickly and mopped the floor. She washed her hands and proceeded to the kitchen where everyone was now eating.

Lisa handed her a plate." Here you go."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome," she smiled at her.

"Thank you," Paige said looking at Alexis too.

"You're most definitely welcome."

She then started to eat." Ungrateful girl. You don't thank your brothers when they cook," James said laughing.

"Oh. You cooked. Okay. Thank you," she said laughing.

They ate. When they were all finished they went into the living room. Paige finally found the courage to tell the others." Guys there is something I have to tell you, something you have to know."
