We arrived in Las Vegas, and they sent a car to pick us up, then take us to the hotel. Ryan carried me into the hotel, even though I was perfectly fine to walk. He answered that he was practicing for our wedding night.
I finally had him put me down, so I could walk on my own. The manager greeted us and shown to the penthouse suite. Once inside, we picked out our rooms and got settled in.
I didn't realize how tired I was walking the short distance until I lay down on the bed and fell asleep. Ryan found me sleeping and covered me with a light blanket. He came out of the room and closed the door.
"Where's Alex?" Jordan asked.
"She's sleeping; the walk must have tired her out," he told him.
"Are you sure she's okay?" Frazier asked, concerned.
"I don't know. Alex says she is, and the doctor cleared her, but that walked wiped her out," he said.
"Maybe you should call the house doctor and have her checked out," Jordan suggested.
"I think that's a wonderful idea," someone suggested.
They turned to see Charles standing there, with his arms crossed. He dialed his cell phone, making a call. Within minutes, a doctor showed up and went into my room to check me out. After thirty minutes, he came out.
"Well, doctor," Ryan asked with anticipation.
"She's fine. Anytime there is anything by the kidney; it takes the patient a little longer to recover. It also makes them tire quickly. Make sure she takes it easy and is getting plenty of rest. In a few weeks, notice her feeling better," he explained.
"Thanks, Stuart," Charles said, shaking his hand.
"Anytime Charles, that girl is fortunate," the doctor mentioned.
"Why?" Ryan asked.
"Because she should have lost a kidney with what you explain to me, but she's healing pretty well. Whoever did the surgery did a fantastic job," the doctor complimented the surgeon that had performed the surgery on me.
Charles thanked him again, and he nodded, leaving the suite of the hotel.
"Because Alex needs some rest and the rest of you, why don't you get some sleep, and later on, I will have dinner delivered to you, and we'll join you," Charles offered to the rest of them.
"Sounds good. Thanks, Dad," Ryan said.
"Sure," Charles said as he nodded.
Charles left, and everyone lay down to get some sleep. The bed dipped next to me, and Ryan laid down, cuddling up next to me, falling asleep.
I woke up a few hours later and looked around. I was alone in the room. I got up to use the bathroom connected to the bedroom, then walked into the main living room. Everyone was sitting on couches and chairs. Ryan got up and walked over to me.
"How did you sleep?" He asked me.
"Good. I didn't realize how tired I was. Still, I had the weirdest dream," telling everyone about everything that happened after I fell asleep. Once I finished, Ryan assured me it was a dream. I must have been half out of it.
"Are you hungry?" He asked me.
"I'm starving," I answered.
They all started laughing, "That's a good sign," he added.
We all sat down at the table with Charles and Maggie, having dinner and caught up with everything that had happened.
"So, what do you think, Dad?" Ryan asked him.
