We had settled into Mason's nicely. However, it was unnerving to see different men in the house. I was still trying to get used to it. Cole and Dean showed up while we were there. I still think about how complicated my life had become since I met the guys. It went from simple to complicate in a matter of minutes, and I was still trying to wrap my brain around it.
I woke up to a sleeping Ryan. At least one thing hadn't changed, which I was grateful for in my life. I know Mason wasn't happy with the sleeping arrangements, but Luci convinced him that drastically altering my life would make things worse for me. I owe her one for that.
I got up and went to the bathroom to take care of my daily regimen, then made my way to the kitchen, although I still got lost with all the rooms this place had. Every time I thought I was going in the right direction, it ended up wrong. That added to my frustration.
"Lost," I heard someone asked me.
I spun around to see Cole in sweats, smirking at me.
"Seriously, how many rooms does this house have? I need a map," I groaned, letting my frustration get the best of me.
"Trust me; you get used to it," he grinned.
"I don't think I will ever get used to it," I sighed until I felt a muscular arm snake around my waist. The familiar scent instantly calmed me.
"Giving my girl a hard time, Cole?" His sleepy voice was husky and made my heart speed up.
"Nah, just having some fun with her," he smiled.
"Gee, thanks a lot," I muttered.
"Anytime," he winked. I shook my head. Great, another idiot I get to handle.
"I'll see you both downstairs. Don't be late. My mom doesn't like it." He took off to the kitchen, and Ryan spun me around, kissing me. "Morning, baby," he greeted me.
"Morning, babe," I greeted him.
"You know I woke up to an empty bed," he mentioned to me.
"I was a little hungry, and you looked hot sleeping." I realized what I had just said and winced.
"You think I'm hot?" he asked with a look.
"I didn't say that," I replied quickly.
"You said I was hot," he reminded me.
"No, I didn't," I said, walking away and him chasing after me all the while we bantered back and forth about him being hot or not. We finally made our way to the kitchen, thank God, because I was starving. I looked at Ryan and noticed he was wearing a hoodie and slippers, as were the other guys.
"What's with the hoodie?" I whispered.
"Aunt Luci doesn't like people to be indecent, even if we're shirtless. She feels it's improper. Luci doesn't like bare feet either. She hates it," he informed me.
I looked down to see I had socks on my feet. Thank god or I would get lost, trying to find my room again. We all sat down at the table as Cole and Dean helped Luci with breakfast while Mason was getting beverages. For influential people, they sure did a lot for themselves.
Ryan leaned over. "What?"
"I'm just surprised," I answered.
"Surprise by what, my dear," Mason asked, setting a cup of coffee in front of me. "Coffee with French Vanilla Creamer only, was I right?" I nodded. "You're surprised by what? You never answered my question."
"It's just people like you usually have people doing stuff for you, but you seem so normal," I remarked, not realizing what I had just said.
Everyone stopped and stared at me, which kind of freaked me out, making me bolt. Great, I just insulted Ryan's aunt and uncle after they welcomed me into their home. I felt like an idiot. I went to the first door I could find, thinking it was a bathroom, but ended up being a closet.
