Ever feel like your life is a blur. One minute, you're this kid, the next, you're a young adult, getting hunted down by some raging lunatic. Did I mention I also have insane friends that also help me deal with this crazy, deranged person? Yep, my life is anything but boring.

Ever since that day in the woods, I have gained three bodyguards, Ryan, Jordan, and Frazier. It was a good thing their girlfriends are my besties, or I would have to deal with putting up with their antics. Even after my classes, they were waiting for me and when I went to the bathroom. Seriously, this is getting out a hand.

I laid down one afternoon only to wake up to the three of them look at me, which scared the living shit out of me.

"Ah," I yelled, jumping out of bed.

"Sleep well," Ryan smirked.

"Do you know that you snore?" Frazier asked.

"What the hell are you guys doing?" I asked them incredulously.

"Monitoring you," Jordan shrugged.

"By giving me a heart attack, yeah, sure, so when I need an ambulance, one of you idiots can call them!" I snapped.

I put my hand on my head, groaning in frustration. I understand them being overprotective, but really, not this overprotective. Ryan motioned for them to leave while I stood there, glaring at them.

"And for your information, I do not snore," I yelled after them. "Do I snore?" I asked, innocently looking at Ryan.

"Yeah, but it's a cute snore," he smiled.

He got up and walked over to me, wrapping his arms around my waist. "Sorry, we just want nothing to happen to you."

"I get that, but I'm fine. Frazier is with me at the bakery, you're with me with Professor Dave, and Jordan is with me at the library. When I'm not in those places, all of you are with me. Plus, they can't neglect the girls just because some lunatic makes my life more complicated," I groaned, putting my head into his chest.

He rubbed my arms, reassuring me, "I know. The girls understand what's going on, and they're worried, too. But if you want us to tone it down, we will."

"Please, because the more we act strange, the more she knows she's getting to us," I reminded him.

He put his hands on my cheeks and gave me a soft, tender kiss; then his phone went off. He groaned. "Perfect timing."

He pulled his phone from his pocket and answered the call. I heard him say a few things and nod his head; then, he hung up.

"Well," I asked him.

"That was a dad. He's on his way over with some news. They finished the analysis and have some new information." When he said that, I felt like we had one thing we were sorely lacking, and that was hope.

We went down to the living room after gathering everyone together and waited for Charles. I don't know why, but I was anxious. To find out is behind it. It was making my stomach twist in knots and heart thump out of my chest. I was on the verge of a panic attack.

Ryan sensed my anxiety kicked up ten notches and squeezed my hand, trying to calm me, but just waiting was making it hard to calm down. Charles arrived a few minutes later, taking a seat in a chair and handing the paper to Ryan. We all gathered around to read the article, and it shocked us at what it revealed.

He looked at his dad. "This can't be true."

"Unfortunately, it is," Charles said.

"But why?" Ryan asked him.
