After coming back, I went upstairs to take a shower. That was after I found my way to the bathroom after a few lost turns. I'm not sure if I will ever get used to this house. Note to self, make sure we have a smaller home when we get one.
After showering, I put on some sweats, and Jordan checked me over, making sure I broke nothing and tending to my wounds. I'm bruised and had cut along with a busted lip, but nothing I couldn't handle.
I crawled into bed, making it easy. Ryan came in, tossing his hoodie onto a chair and climbing into bed with me.
"How are you feeling?" He asked me.
"Sore," I answered.
"Are you okay?" he questioned me.
"Somewhat," I replied.
"You're not having doubts, are you?" He asked me.
"About what?" I asked him, confused.
"Myself, we, this family," he questioned me.
"I'd be lying if I said it didn't unnerve me with the things that go on in your family, but as far as you and me, I have no doubts," I reasoned. He looked at me. I reached over and softly touched his face. "I meant what I said back there. You're my family, even if most of your family is crazy." I gave him a soft smile.
"It's just with everything that happened. I was afraid you would want to back out of this," Ryan sighed.
I moved my hand into his, playing with his fingers. "There is no backing out for me. We're a team. I'm your other half, making you whole. I love you, Ryan Matthew Jones, and that will never change."
He leaned over and kissed me, wrapping his arms around me, pulling me to him. He looked at me. "You make me happy; you know that? I love you so much, Alex."
"I know. How about we take a nap? I need some sleep," I suggested.
"Okay, turn over so that I can snuggle you." I turned onto my side, and he snuggled up from behind me as we drifted off to sleep together.
After two hours, I woke up with Ryan's arms around me. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and looked around.
"Are you two going just to spend all day in bed?" Frazier said, leaning against the doorframe.
"Don't you have a wife to tend to?" Ryan mumbled.
"She's sleeping," he mumbled.
"And that's our fault, how?" he mumbled with one eye open.
"Come on, guys, I'm bored. We're on lockdown and can't go anywhere," he whined.
Ryan opened his eyes and rolled onto his back, pushing himself up, propping two pillows behind us, "Seriously, we're on lockdown because that psychotic bitch is on the loose. I don't know about you, but I prefer to be on lockdown with my beautiful fiancé."
"Oh, come on, this place is like Fort Knox. No one is getting in unless they want a bullet in their brain," he whined.
We looked at each other; then I looked at Frazier. "I don't think it's that bad. As soon as they catch her, everything will be fine."
"Fine, you guys are not any fun," he huffed, storming off.
I looked at Ryan as he said, "Five, four, three, two, one."
"Frazier, I will beat your ass if you don't get out of here," Jordan yelled from his room.
"You guys are just as bad as the Jackrabbits in there!" Frazier exclaimed.
