Alexander, I need your help. Hurry.

It has been twenty minutes since I got the fire message from Magnus. I am terrified. There are so many things that it could be. Had Valentine gotten to him? Was it a demon or other warlock? I run from the taxi cab to the entrance of Magnus's apartment only to find the door at the bottom of the stairs open. A chill runs down my spine as I look up the stairs. I sprint up the stairs and as if by a miracle I don't trip. When I get to Magnus's door my heart starts racing even more.

"Magnus?" I call out as I pull my bow out and hold an arrow against it ready to shoot. I take a step inside and look to the right then left. I don't see anything or anyone including Magnus. Did they already take him? Is he in danger somewhere? "Magnus!"

"Alexander." Magnus walks around the corner from the kitchen with his arms open. I barely keep myself from shooting him. "Woah, I love the bow and arrow but perhaps you could not shoot me?"

"Magnus," I am relieved, "you're okay." I drop my weapons and hug him tightly.

"Of course I am." He kisses my hair and ruffles it. "Why would you think I wasn't?"

''Are you kidding me? Magnus your fire message-" I say but then he cuts me off with a laugh. I furrow my brows with frustration. He's laughing at me?

"Oh, darling. I'm sorry." He gives me a guilty smile. "I guess I should have explained a little bit. Looking back I can see where I went wrong."

"So, you're okay? You're safe?" I ask him still not sure if I should be annoyed or worried.

"Yes, sorry again, my dear. I just wanted to see you." Magnus touches my cheek gently and smiles as his eyes flash yellow.

"Well if you're okay I should go." I turn away from him but he grabs my arm to stop me.

"Alexander, wait." Magnus says and I turn to face him again.

"Magnus I need to get back to the institute. I'm glad you're okay, but my family needs me." I say and give him an apologetic smile. It has been weeks since we've been able to spend time together but that's just the way life goes. I can't just enjoy myself while Valentine and the Circle wreaks havoc on the world.

"Alec you need to take some time for yourself." Magnus's innocent yet powerful look makes me want to kiss him. I bite my lip to keep from doing just that.

"I will when this is over." I tell him.

"It will never be over. There will always be a war." His words may be simple but they are more powerful than anything else he could have said. I know that I should leave but I can't. He's right; I've been fighting my entire life.

"What do you have in mind?" I ask him with a smile.

"Well I do really need your help." He waves his hand and smiles.

"Right, what can I help you with?"

"I couldn't pick which movie to watch." Magnus says and waves his hand again making a stack of movies appear on the table.

"What?" I exclaim. "You called me over here because you couldn't pick a movie?"

"Yes because I trust your opinion." He fixes my collar and taps my nose.

"Magnus, you do realize that I thought you were in actual danger right?"

"I already apologized." Magnus sticks his bottom lip out. "Now pick a movie, please."

"Fine." I chuckle and grab one at random. "This one."

"Nope."

"You wanted me to pick."

"Yeah, but we're not watching that."

"Fine, this one."

"Nope."

"Magnus just pick the movie yourself then!" I toss the movie at the table and then start to laugh. I wipe at the tears that spring to my eyes as I continue to laugh like a crazed lunatic.

"What are you laughing about?" Magnus gives me a worried look.

"There's a war going on outside and we're fighting over what movie to watch."

"Well movie choice is very important. It says a lot about a person. And yours my darling is horrible." Magnus steps closer and kisses my forehead. "But that's okay. I'll teach you."

A/N Sorry about the late update I've been sick the past couple of days but I'm finally feeling a bit better so yay! Sorry that this one isn't great but the next one will be. It's gonna be fun too! :)
