"Magnus," Alec absently brushed through his boyfriend's hair as he laid on his side, "please wake up. I really need you too come back. You have no idea what it's like here, I mean Izzy brought me food. She made it! It was horrible but she just sat there smiling while I choked it down."
Alec gripped Magnus's hand a little tighter as his true emotions and fear fought their way up through the cloud of humor. It had been almost a full week since they got to the institute.
Alec had left his side only a handful of times and not once had he left the room they were in which was Alec's old room. Alec was just about to start talking again when he heard footsteps outside. He sat up thinking it was Jace or Isabelle.
"Why is that downworlder still here? We might as just put him down already." A guy said from outside the door. Alec's ears perked up and he got up from the bed; he was pissed.
"Do you know who he is?" Another voice pointed out and Alec sat back. This guy would point it out.
"Yeah, he's the high warlock of Brooklyn. By the angel! Who cares! He did his job; he saved the gay lightwood boy. Not sure why we wanted him back though." The first man responded and Alec's fists were clenched so tightly that he felt blood well up where his nails were digging into his palms. He didn't care what they said about him, but no one got to insult Magnus.
"You son of a bitch!" Alec bellowed as he flung the door open. "Do you have any idea what Magnus has done for your worthless ass?"
"Woah, calm down cupcake. I didn't mean to hurt your precious feelings." The man to his left said as the other was smart enough to look scared.
Alec was fuming, he stood up straight causing the man infront of him to become shorter than him. Just before he punched the guy he paused. "What's your name?"
"Why? Are you going to go to your parents and tattle?" The man taunted.
"No." Alec punched him in the nose and smiled when he heard the bone shatter. "I want to know what name to put on the tombstone but I guess dumbass it is."
He kicked out at the guy who was already holding his nose and whining. The man fell back with one hand on his nose and the other on his gut.
Alec looked at the guy's friend with a sickly sweet smile and growled. "Why are you still here?"
"Um, I'm not?" The guy choked out. He had heard about what Alec Lightwood could do and knew better than to stop him. He ran away down the hall and screamed when he bumped into someone.
"What's going on?" Jace asked the guy who he was currently holding up. He looked terrified.
"A-a-alec." He stuttered.
"Is he hurt? What happened?" Jace shook him.
"He's gonna kill him?" The man said.
"Who's going to kill him? Where?"
"Alec's gonna kill him."
"Alec?" Jace asked confused, Alec wouldn't hurt someone unless he had a really good reason. He had to be in trouble. Jace needed to help him. "Where?"
"That way." The man pointed down the hall.
Jace pushed the man out of his way and sprinted down the hall.
"Alec!" Jace called out when he saw him. Alec was straddling a guy that was clearly unconscious yet Alec was still punching him.
"What the hell is going on?" Jace demanded as he grabbed Alec's raised fist. It was covered in blood and from what he could tell none of it was Alec's. He yanked him up to stand next to him.
"He," Alec kicked the guy, "said", kick, "Magnus," kick, "should be," kick, "put down."
Jace dragged Alec into his room and slammed the door. "He's a bastard. I'm so sorry. I won't let anyone near your room until Magnus is better. I promise, no one will touch him, Alec."
"He talked about him like he was a fucking dog. One that you put down after it does it's job. He's not a dog. He's a person, a selfless, perfect person that would be perfectly fine if not for me. I should be in that bed. He would know what to do." Alec sank down against the wall and covered his head with his arms.
Jace dropped down next to him as wrapped his arm around his best friend wishing that he could take the pain away. "Alec, he's going to be okay. We'll figure this out." He kissed his hair and then ruffled it. "Now how about I make sure you didn't actually kill that dumbass out there then I'll come back and we can discuss some options."
"I did a good job with him right?" Alec smiled.
"Just like what I would have done." Jace smiled back and got up. "Get the books out and I'll be right back. Oh, and maybe clean that blood off."
"Yeah I would hate to catch dumbassery from that guys blood." Alec got up.
"Yeah, I've heard it's on the rise." Jace laughed.
A/N I hadn't planned this scene out but this morning I woke up after seeing it in a dream and I knew it had to happen. I love pissed off Alec! ❤😍
