Today had been interesting to say the least. My fiancé was not guilty. Unfortunately, his dad was.... along with both my parents and the Blossoms. As the trial got further in, it was discovered that Mr. Jones was hired by the Blossoms to kill Polly and the baby. Meanwhile, the Blossoms had bribed Mom and Dad into keeping the baby a secret and having Polly locked up. They literally were going to give them $1million so that Polly would have the baby in secret and give him up for adoption. Naturally, all three sets of parents were granted some much needed jail time. In the meantime, all three of the children under their care: Jughead, Cheryl, and myself were granted what is known as the law of "Emancipation." This is where the court essentially grants us all the right to be free from our parent's care and be considered adults, as long as we could prove that we could provide for ourselves. Since all of us essentially inherited a fourtune (since Jughead was going to marry in) we could all provide for ourselves. They also let me receive full custody for Jason Jr. Fun fact, this "Emancipation" law also says that we can get married now too. Granted, we had lots of planning to do, but at least we wouldn't have to worry about the whole court and law not letting us for a few years.
After all the trials, the entire gang went out to the Chocklit Shoppe to celebrate. Juggie and I were sitting on the stools, sharing a chocolate milkshake. Veronica and Archie were dancing near the jukebox. Reggie, Moose, and Dilton were chatting at a booth. The Pussycats were chilling nearby the jukebox, Valerie waiting for her turn to dance with Archie. Ethel and Midge were on the other end of the stools, talking about girlie things. It was weird not seeing Kevin there with everyone. He was definitely going to be missed by everyone. Then there was Cheryl Blossom. She was sitting in a booth by herself, looking really depressed. She's been through a lot this past week and really needed a friend.
"Hey, Babe. I gotta go check on something real quick, then we can leave for home in a sec," I kissed Jughead on the cheek.
"Sure, Baby." He replied with a smirk. I casually waltzed over to the opposite end of Cheryl's lonely little booth.
"Hey, Cheryl." I gave her a half smile.
"Hey, Betty." Cheryl sighed, looking at the table.
"Are you... are you holding up okay?" I enquired. Cheryl's eyes rose from the table to meet mine.
"I mean, as good as one without any family can be holding up, Cooper."
"Hey, that's not entirely true. You have Baby JJ and... I mean, we're practically related. We're the aunties of this little guy." I tried to give her the best reassuring smile that I could. "And, hey, if you ever want to just come over to my place, you're definitely more than welcome to." Cheryl nodded.
"Yeah and same goes to you. You're welcome at my mansion any time of day." Cheryl finally gave a small smile.
"Aunties?" I asked.
"Aunties." Cheryl laughed and rolled her eyes. "You're ridiculous, Cooper. That's for sure. Well, I gotta head home now. I might try to catch Baby JJ on the way back."
"That sounds like a good idea, Blossom." I joked. Cheryl walked out of the A Chocklit Shoppe. The rest of the Shoppe was still buzzing with energized teenagers, dancing and talking. Archie and Veronica were attempting to swing dance, and he was failing miserably. Josie finally got up to the karaoke stage with the rest of the Pussycats. I guess they were essentially going to perform in the Chocklit Shoppe. Reggie kept trying to sweet talk Midge into dancing, but she kept looking uncomfortable, probably since Moose was sitting nearby. Somehow, Dilton Doiley was hitting it off really well with Ethel. And not that I'm one to judge, but Dilton Doiley was barely 5 feet tall and, well, they did call her 'Big' Ethel for a reason. She was practically towering over him, but he didn't seem to mind. Then there was Jughead and myself. While he was still sitting at the stool, I wrapped my arms around him from behind.
