"And just like that, I walked out of my relationship with Archie." Veronica grinned. We were sitting in the den, Jughead and I on the couch, Veronica on the chair to my left. JJ was quietly playing in his playpen.

"As awful as it sounds... I'm proud of you for dumping Archie, V." I stated, as I placed my hands over my stomach. Jughead's head was leaning against my shoulder, his one arm slung around my stomach. He was wiped from work this morning.

"Can't believe he was stupid enough to do that to you," Jughead mumbled, half asleep. Veronica explained to us how everything went just as she had planned. Archie grovelled about Cheryl, Veronica explained that she wasn't pregnant, she broke up with him, he begged her to come back, then she punched him where the sun don't shine. Kind of brutal, but honestly kind of deserved.

"Yeah, hopefully he'll never have children now. Scumbag." Veronica scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Also, thank you guys so much for you hospitality. I promise I'm going to get a job and move out soon."

"Of course. Anything for you, V." I replied. Then I exchanged a look with Jughead. "And we've discussed it... you're welcome to stay here as long as you want to. Or need to." I carefully took her hand and smiled. "Heck, you can even stay here while you finish high school."

"Thanks guys. But... I can't mooch off of you. I've got to provide for myself. I actually already have a job lined up at Tisdale's." Veronica said excitedly, her hands out in front of her. "As a cashier. Who will get 25% discounts." She smirked. I haven't seen her this happy in awhile. Probably not since she and Archie first started dating, honestly. I'm just glad that she's ok after everything that happened. She's always been really strong.

"But hey, since you do live here, we get free babysitting now, right?" Jughead joked. I flicked his ear, then started playing with his dark curls.

"Sure, anything to keep JJ away from Cheryl." Veronica chirped. Then she went to play with JJ. "I can't believe she's trying to take him away from you. I've got so much against her right now." She picked up JJ. "Wanna go grab a snack from the kitchen?" She asked in a baby voice. They headed towards the kitchen. "Do you guys have a lawyer yet?"

"Not yet." I sighed. "We've been so busy with doctor's appointments and everything we haven't had time. Which honestly makes me worried that we'll lose the case."

"You can use my Dad's if you want. He got him out of jail, so he must be good." Veronica grabbed a banana and tore a piece off for JJ. "Here you go, baby." She handed him a piece and he shoved it into his face. We all laughed.

"I can't afford to lose him." I stated painfully. Jughead jumped up from his seat, then got down on one knee and took my hand in his.

"Betty, we're not going to lose him. We're going to make sure that he stays right here, with us, ok?" Jughead reassured me. "Veronica, what's this lawyer's number?"

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

Who could that be? Jughead walked over and opened the door to see... Cheryl ...and Reggie?

"Hi! I'm here to pick up my nephew for the weekend." She smirked deviously.

"Ok. What's Reggie doing with you?" Jughead asked, as he leaned against the doorframe. Cheryl pushed past him and let herself in, smiling largely when she saw JJ.

"Awww Jason Jr.! How's my favorite nephew?" She rushed over to take him from Veronica, who wore a very obvious scowl on her face. Then Cheryl covered his face in her maple red lipstick. "Who's your favorite auntie?" She cooed.

"Sup bro?" Reggie smirked, as he tried to high five Jughead at the door. Jughead looked like he could murder Reggie. "Alright then." Reggie said a little too happily, as he removed his hand, and let himself in. Then he plopped himself down on the other end of the couch.
