I jolted awake in the middle of the night. Without realizing it, I tightly grabbed Juggie by the arm. My stomach hurt, like, literal gut wrenching pain. I took a deep breath in and out.
"Betty? Are you ok?" Juggie jolted awake, as he felt me grab his arm. I kept breathing and shook my head. "We're going to go to the emergency room ok?" I nodded, tears streaming down my face, as I doubled over in pain. Jughead quickly threw on pants and a tshirt, then he helped me put my robe on. He hurried me down the stairs, as I yelped in pain. "Betty, listen to me- We're going to be ok. The baby is going to be fine." He said calmly. I nodded in response. I felt like talking would only make the pain worse. I sat down in the car. "Wait right here. I'm going to go grab JJ." He rushed back into the house. What was going on? I was barely 13 weeks along. They said that after 9 weeks the chances of a miscarriage were pretty minimal. But why was I in so much pain? Ooooh, Jughead needed to hurry. If this isn't labor, I'm going to die when the baby actually does come. Jughead rushed back into the car, and carefully put JJ in his carseat.

"Well Mrs. Jones, you and the baby are going to be just fine." The doctor said. Jughead and I sighed in relief. I was sat in the hospital bed, rubbing my small, slightly swollen stomach. I was finally starting to show, after what felt like forever. What's even worse is that I was not even halfway through this pregnancy. It was already the middle of March, and I wasn't due until September. Jughead rubbed my back, while holding JJ in his free arm.
"Then, what happened, doctor?" Jughead asked curiously, his brows deeply furrowed.
"Mrs. Jones was experiencing braxton hicks. Typically, this shows up much later in the pregnancy, but occasionally shows up during the second trimester." He explained. "Not to worry, this is completely normal. You all were right to bring her in though. It could've turned out to be something much worse." He smiled, then walked out of the room. I laid my head on Jughead's arm.
"Thanks Jughead." I said, tears coming to my eyes.
"Hey, hey, hey." He said in a low, calm voice, as he sat down next to me, his hand never leaving my back. "You and the baby are both fine. That's all that matters." He kissed the top of my forehead. "Thanks for waking me up. You knew what to do, too." He assured me, continuing to rub circles in my back. Then, Cheryl burst into the room.
"Where's JJ?" She yelled. "Is he ok?" She rushed over to pick up our nephew. She then preceded to kiss his face off.
"Thanks for coming, Cheryl. I'm fine." I mumbled.
"You? I thought you said JJ was in trouble?" She asked, bouncing JJ on her hip.
"No, Betty and the baby." Jughead emphasized.
"Baby JJ?" Cheryl said, not quite getting it.
"No, our baby." Jughead replied, as he smiled at me. I blushed. Last week, we had Cheryl, Archie, and Veronica over for dinner. Veronica knew about the pregnancy, obviously, but we still had to break it to the others. We did it just as we had planned, JJ wore a big brother shirt and we had a cake with the ultrasound photo on it. Archie was more than thrilled. Cheryl could have cared less. She was more interested in if that meant she could watch JJ more.
"Ohhh right. I forgot about Baby Jones." Cheryl rolled her eyes. And here I thought we were friends. "Anyways, I'll take JJ for the night."
