now the sun shines
my thoughts no longer foggy and lifeless.
knowing that I have the inner strength to conquer
what once almost finished me without regret.
a positive plan for the future,
with my life now in motion.
no darkness to be seen —
only light.
with someone new
who embraces me for who I am,
and seems to be my sun.
but how do I know for sure
that he'll stay by my side?
before I knew it,
before I had properly healed,
he left too.
and again,
I was crushed and left
on the streets
like a stray dog.
this time,
I am stronger.
I build myself up again.
refusing to break down again.
even if I never find that special person
that the fairytales always suggest,
at least
I
love
me.
and that's all
that matters.
because who needs a partner
to conquer the world?
