peripheral: relating to or situated on the edge or periphery of something.

it was time.

it was time for the birds to start chirping,

for the people to rise out of their comfortable beds

for the moon to fade away into an early riser's peripheral vision,

knowing exactly what would happen on this spring morning.

it stealthily watched for the sun to make its entrance

knowing the terribly intended words, the glowing sun would whisper in it's ear

unheard to anyone who'd might listen like a tiny rock trying to break glass

before providing life for all the living beings that should exist.

all the moon could do now is observe from the far end

completely useless in comparison to the fiery sun,

but would the moon rather have to be responsible for an entire planet?

would the moon rather give so much to others that it ends up burning out?

no, the moon shook it's head.

it would instead take in all the wonderful souls that live

and let them observe the moon in it's full glory.

no, the moon would rather be itself.

because the moon does not blind and burn the eyes,

neither does it command to be looked at,

nor give us more light to an already bright sky.

it instead gives us a little light in a sky surrounded in dark voids.
