you

she's just like you.

she cries herself to sleep at the bad memories.

she can't help but want to turn back time.

like you, she wants to forget.

he's just like you.

he dreams of fame and fortune

he can't help but want the things in life that he can't have

like you, he wants to be different.

they're just like you.

they wish they were more in awe of our earth.

they can't help but feel like they don't deserve this good life.

like you, they want to appreciate.

i'm just like you.

i wish i could be different

i can't help but think i want to have more of this and less of that

like you, i wish i could change.

we are all like each other

we want to be able to make a mark on this world

but our imposed self-esteem is a constant brick in the balance.

we, are the future.

this is us.

this is you.

and that is okay.

-----------------------

pretty straightforward poem today - but knowing what we like about ourselves and what we don't, i think, is really important. i encourage all of you to write in a notebook what you like about yourself, and if you want to, what you dislike. only if you'd like to, of course, if you're strong enough to face the facts :P

i have yet to do this but i think it would help me - and you - realise we are good. we are great, regardless of our flaws, external and internal. i know we know this, but when we are extremely upset or angry, we become irrational.

anyway, hi. sorry for the long wait, as always. i am planning to end this book shortly. after all, we are all growing and i am moving on from this book - even though i love it and you guys to bits.
