child fantasy

stuck in our own fantasy as kids,
dreaming to be princesses,
playing with dolls.
but what was to come
wasn't as simple
as it seems.

the realisation on their faces
when their beloved parents speak
for they must grow up in order
to be proper adults.

the child's fantasies disappear
as they reveal their true identities
and change their ways and manners
to suit everyone
but themselves.

in the end, we do not grow up,
we only learn how to speak in public.

'inconspicuous' reached #259 in poetry today! thank you all so much!
