He realizes that it was all a dream, he seemed to have 2 dreams at the same time he woke up from one & automatically entered another. Constantly dreaming about Mona he starts to believe she is trying to tell him something but without words, is it something he did ? Is it from not saving her when she died in the house fire ? What was the subliminal message. Vicki knocks on the door he answers aggressively what do you want he said, she said you, Ezekiel said you already ruined my life & you know that I belong to Mona & you continue to try & create something that was never meant to be. Vicki puckered up & kissed Ezekiel, she seems to not get the message so he pushes her & slams the door in her face. Ezekiel feels disgusted with himself because he let Vicki kiss him not knowing that she carry diseases, & the way she makes him feel he doesn't want to be involved in Vicki's life anymore. One night Ezekiel is on his way to bed & Mona starts talking to him in his head saying "I miss you Zeke". Zeke was the nickname only Mona could call him....because she was special to him, Vicki had several nicknames for every guy she has been with in her adolescent years. Vicki favorite punch line was work more than you talk, but Ezekiel is a talker & Vicki has a problem with that. He's not easy to get to, he's not easily convinced, she had to work harder not knowing that Mona is watching.
