"Joey!" Daniel shouted me and I groaned.
"What?" I really couldn't be bothered.
"If you think I'm washing these dishes you can think again!" He did not look impressed.
"But....my nails." I flashed my hand in front of him.
"I don't care about your damn nails, Joey. For God's sake I do everything around here and I'm getting sick of it."
Things have been.....different? Since we moved in together, all we seemed to do is argue. We didn't even know what it was about most of the time, we just keep getting in each other's way.
"I'm trying my best, Daniel. I'm just stressed with my new job." I sighed.
"Then tell me that! We're in a relationship, Joey, you're supposed to tell me how you're feeling. You always get back late and I never see you!" He looked really upset now.
"Well it's not just MY fault! You leave early every single day." I fired back at him.
"Whatever Joey, you're not putting all this on me." He crossed his arms and glared at me.
"Can we stop?" I practically begged. "All we do, day in, day out is argue. It's exhausting."
Daniel said nothing, just stared at the floor.
"Daniel?" I prompted him.
"I....I think I might go and stay at my friends for a few days...." he said quietly.
"What?" I whispered. "No....Daniel....we can sort this out. All couples have problems we just have-"
"I just need a break, Joey." He looked sad.
"Am I that annoying, that you need time off? I'm not a child." I spat.
"Well maybe you should grow up then!" He shouted, catching me by surprise and making me jump.
"Sorry I didn't mean it..." he reached out to touch my arm but I flinched away, refusing to look at him."Maybe we do need a break." I said. "Just....go to your friend's house and talk to me when you know what you want."
And with that he was out the door, taking a bag of his belongings.
What happened to us?
