Chapter ELEVEN:
Blood Eyes
Lex's POV:
Sunday. Not my favourite day but I can't control the time so I'm stuck with it.
"I'm gonna go down to the cafe to grab a drink, anyone coming?" I called into the house.
Muffles and groans came from upstairs before Felix's' head popped out from the stairs.
"I'll come, the rest of the boys are heading to Phoebes" Felix told me.
"Cool!" I mumbled, while opening the door.
We all parted our ways, 2 of us going to grab a drink and 3 of us going to Arachne Lane where Phoebes at. Felix and I walked down the street and to the shopping area where the supermarket, cafes and newsagents lived.
I pushed my wallet into my pocket and walked across the streets, taking in the early morning atmosphere.
"What do you want to drink?" I asked Felix, peering at him.
He had his thinking face on and was clearly playing with his lip piercing's.
"I think I migh- Run!" Felix quickly hushed into a whisper.
He yanked on my arm and roughly pulled me to the corner of the brick wall quickly. This was the same place where my head got bashed into by Bates. I had a quick peek around the corner, Bates stood there, confused looking and right near him was Oscar, reading a comic book.
"Oscar got the talisman to work the first time so he can get it to work again" Felix explained quietly. "Oscar! Oscar!"
Oscar looked up and grinned to the waving Felix. He wandered over smiled. Hmmm Superman comics?
"Hey Felix! Hi Lex!" Oscar grinned
"Is Mr Bates looking at us?" Felix whisper urgently.
"Yeah, why?" Oscar asked.
As soon as Oscar said that Bates head snapped our way and we began to run down the alley way, pushing past Andy's mother and grandmother
"We need your help!" I yelled to Oscar.
"Run Oscar! Run away!" Felix yelled.
"Why? I thought you needed me!" Oscar protested.
"Just run!" I screamed.
While Oscar ran off to safety Felix and I ran into an old workshop. Felix his behind a empty bin and I hide behind a desk. Bates stormed in, searching around for us. He searched around, looking under sheets and in garbage cans. My heart began racing, any minute now we could die. Any minute now he could find us and that would be the end.
Felix threw a hammer at the other side of the room and it attracted Bates. Looks like this demon will fall for anything!
Felix and I raced up the stairs, I distracted the demon for him by throwing metal cans down the stairs.
"Oi! FREAK SHOW!" I yelled. I waved a metal screwdriver and threw it at Bates.
Bates looked up at me and growled. He advanced up towards me and I kept throwing cans but he dodged every one. I ran into the room and blocked it behind Felix. He stared at me like I was manic for trying to save him but... hey, its not like I get that look every day!
"Don't just stand there! Jump!" I yelled.
Felix cautiously jumped down and I jumped after him. I rolled and kept running to catch up with Felix and Oscar.
"What do we do now?" I asked.
"Run" Felix panted.
We turned a corner and stopped, Felix pulled the talisman out of his pocket.
"Your a witch, Oscar! In my world your my little brother" Felix explained.
Oscars expression brightened up alot and you could finally see a twinkle in his eyes.
"Really? I've always wanted a brother" Oscar grinned from ear to ear eagerly. He kept on mumbling happy, joyful things.
"Close your eyes" Felix ordered as he whipped out the talisman and put it in Oscars hands. I stood clear, scanning the area for Bates. He's coming, I can feel it
"Earth, water, fire, air" Felix chanted "I invoke thee"
The talisman had a slight glow and he quickly snatched it out of Oscars hands.
Bates appeared out of no where and snatched Felix's arm. I couldn't control my instinctive emotions now and I punched Bates right in the jaw, hopefully knocking him.
He only flinched and I was pushed back slightly by the punches force. Bates looked down at Oscar and he began to twitch. His eyes fell a blood red and he stared off at me.
"Oscar" I trailed off in horror. "Don't listen to him"
I stared at Oscar- emotionless and didn't have control of his own body. He rapidly spun out of control and pushed me into the ground.
Bates and Oscar quickly got to work. They began lifting him up and into the back of Bates car.
"LEX!" Felix yelled, fear clearly audible in his voice.
I rubbed my head and jumped to my feet, grabbing Sam's skateboard. A plan ran through my brain and I knew instantly what to do.
Hide and Follow
I ducked behind a dumpster and waited for the cars engine to turn on. Within a flash it was all going, I hopped onto Sams skateboard and followed them down the pathway, staying clear out of sight but enough that I had clear vision of where they were going.
I whizzed past Mia and Ellen, curving around their feet. My feet never had such a workout as I quickly tried to keep up with Bates car.
A police car began to follow Bates in pursuit. Jakes Dad. I pounded after them, my heart racing and my hair flying.
We began to slowly go into the bush land. Skateboards didn't go so well in these type of conditions. I put the skateboard at the side of the road, where Sam could clearly see it if he happened to come looking.
I sprinted to keep up with this pursuit, doing my best not to fall behind and lose them. The police car cut ahead and skidded to a halt in front of Bates.
I ran into the undergrowth of the trees and watched, crouching down and keeping my cool. I watched Jakes dad walk up to the car, but my worse fears were answered and he too was possessed
