Something Horrid

Lexs POV

Monday...

Today, didn't go as plan. By plan, I mean normal. Cause psst... who has a plan when it comes to school?! Instead of people staying a 3 metres away from me in the halls like average none of that actually happened. It caught me completely off guard. But anyway, Sam's been acting strange lately. He hasn't been himself. He's been getting these kind of 'I don't wanna talk' moods, alot!

I walked into the English classroom on time with my books. I arrived at the back of the classroom, sitting next to Jake.

"Whats with the unicorn?" I asked, refrencing to the multi-coloured stuffed toy that Jake was playing with on his desk.

"Shut up. Its from my friend" Jake scoffed, turning his attention back to the unicorn. He must really like that thing and I must admit, it is a little cute. A little, just a little

I looked around the classroom, relaxing slightly. Everyone was here today- no scrap that. Everyone was but Mia. I saw Mia in the halls earlier so why isn't she here?

"Grab out your textbooks" Mr Brimstone announced sitting down at his desk.

The door flew open and there stood one angry and stiff looking person. Mia. She stormed past her normal desk to... Sam? She never sits next to Sam! They seemed to be talking.

I couldn't hear what they said but it didn't seem too good but Sam was smiling that Mia's near so, that's good right? Class ended quickly and recess came once again. I got up, brushing past Mia, the girl who would usually warn me not to do it again didn't even flinch. Strange.

"What's wrong with Mia?" I asked Andy.

"I don't know" He trailed off.

Felix left us to hang with his brother/ friend in an old classroom and left Andy, Jake and I in the halls.

"See ya guys, I'm going to hang... with Oscar" Sam trailed off, running in the direction of Felix and Oscar.

Jake, Andy and I trailed the halls talking about various things like Geography, Computers and what might be next on being possessed.

Out from around the corner was a sprinting Sam who zipped past us within a flash and holding something very, very, familiar.

"Is that the... talisman?" Jake asked.

We all were thinking the same thing; Run after him. So that's what we did. We skidded past a corner and ran down the hall till a more cleared walking way appeared. He stopped in the Car Engineering room, with a large, black hammer in his hand. The talisman was on the table.

"We break the talisman and we can go home!" Sam growled.

What on earth does he think he's doing?! Talisman is saving their butts!

"Stop!" I yelled, wrapping my thin fingers around the top of the handle, stopping Sam from smashing it. "If you break that you kill half of me"

I looked at him with pleading eyes not too, I knew this because a talisman is often a half death for a lighting spirit who's connected and sadly, I'm connected.

"If that is what it takes to get home then I'm willing to risk it" Sam stared down at me with cold eyes.

This isn't the Sam I know! He wouldn't do this! I backed away from Sam in horror, slighting onto Andy and Sam. With one big swing he smashed the talisman into 4 pieces and that's when it happened. All. At. Once.
