Chapter FIFTEEN

There & Back Again

Lexs POV:

That night was the worst. Unable to go back to my couch to sleep or having way access to clean water and toilet. When I woke up Jakes head was on my feet and half of my body was hanging off the stack of hay bails.

"Jake get your stupid head off my feet" I groaned, sitting up and tugging on his head.

"Whatever" He grumbled, getting up.

I don't know what it was but this shack was creeping me out and it was most defiantly strange. It just gave off this unhealthy... vibe.

I walked outside, stretching out my arms. Outside on a falling-apart log was Andy, mumbling nonsense to himself.

"All my fault, if only I didn't convince Mr-"

"None of this is your fault Andy, none of this" I placed my arm around his shoulders, taking a seat next to him.

"Why aren't you in the other world- my world?" Andy blurted out.

Another world. . .? Questions like that we're confusing to tell someone like Andy who was mostly smarts and only a small percent 'Bear Grylls' like he says.

"Because we don't have copies, we just who we are" I tried to explain.

That was a lame. I took my arm off him, sitting together in a comfortable silence.

"Guys! I've got it!" Sam rushed out excited yelling.

I got to my feet, running over to Sam. He shoved a piece of paper in my hands.

I can't believe this. Bremin highschool Bremin Ranges field trip

"This Lex, this could fix everything! All we need to go is repeat everything" Sam yelled.

"This could, all we need is a signature" My voice got sadder when realisation hit.

Felix just scribbled onto all of our sheets, making sure they looked the same "What? He isn't going to know"

"This better work" Jake rubbed his head.

"Pheobe! We are meant to meeting her!" Felix pestered.

Between the 5 of us most chose to go with Sams idea. Felix being the only one going for Phoebes. I hadn't chosen but honestly, the chances of going with Felix's idea were pretty slim.

"Sorry Felix but . . ." I trailed off, sitting on the log.

So it was settled. We were going to the field trip and they would repeat why happened last time- expect with me.

_____

"Hello Mr Bates" I fake-smiled.

"Hello Lex" He grinned.

I pushed past everyone and sat at a empty area near the back row. I got comfortable and waited for everyone else to get on.

"Here to commit your love for me, Adver?" The red-headed boy asked.

(Jakes ex-friend from the other world thingy with red hair is who I'm talking about)

"No Trent, leave me alone" I snapped as Jake came to sit down next to me.

The bus jerked forward and we began moving to Bremin Ranges where I spent the last night. Sadly, we weren't going very fast but the bus was full of laughter and giggling.

"How about you and me skip this?" Trent whispered in my ear.

"How about you get lost by yourself" I flicked my wrist and punched him in the nose.

"Woah, that wasn't cool bro" Trents' friend grumbled.

"No broken bones" I spoke.

"Calm down Lex" Jake whispered.

Up ahead, Felix was sitting with Sam and Andy was sitting with Ellen. In my opinion he was trying too hard. Shes still the same gothic from the other world just popular and girly.

The bus lurched forward and kids started groaning in pain and some swearing were let out. Mr Bates grimaced and glared at the dodgy bus driver.

"Lets get this over and done with"

We slowly dissembled from the bus and stood outside in a clearing area before the massive bush land. I waited with Sam, Felix, Jake and Andy for the signal.

Mr Bates stood on the picnic bench reading out the groups. We each were on different groups, I sadly with Trent.

"There's the thing about that Mr Bates" I slowly walked forward.

"Get into your groups" He ordered to us.

We all stood still while the others waited for us to join their groups. I looked towards Sam who winked at me. I knew that was the signal so I began my work.

"We're going to be making our own group" I clapped my hands together "See ya"

Together, all 5 of us raced off down the path that Jake lead. I could hear Mr Bates yelling at us behind. It felt exciting doing this.

"We're nearly in the safe zone, c'mon!" Sam yelled.

We skidded to a corner and stopped, taking deep breaths to relax. We were finally safe without Mr Bates yelling at us.

"T-That worked, that actually worked" I huffed.

A brilliant smile was on everyone's face. We made it. It wasn't too long before the celebration was over though. We began walking down the path, Felix constantly pointing out where to go.

The trees and the nature and all seemed different from around the shack.

"Are you okay Lex?" Felix asked.

"Yeah, I just have a weird feeling about this place, it's creepy" I shivered.

He wrapped a supportive arm around me, trying to calm me down. He didn't realise that around us was magic auras that he couldn't even see.
