Chapter TWELVE: Much More than a Spirt
Lexs POV:
I crouched in the undergrowth of the bush, watching the possessed men push Felix down into the forest no more than 10 metres away from me.
This was incredibly risky since they could sense and hunt me down. I stayed still and watched them. No, no! Im not a stalker! Im pretty sure I cleared that up a few weeks ago! I have a plan
"Let me go!" Felix screeched. "I'll use magic!"
He kicked and struggled around but alas did no use. I awkwardly ran to keep up with their speeding pace.
Crunch.
I quickly bent down into the undergrowth. Please don't find me please don't find me.
Bates, Oscar and Jakes dad snapped their heads in my direction, scanning the area. My breath hitched and my heart beat sped quickly.
Never in my life have I been so afraid.
"Must of been an animal" Bates muttered. He continued forward, leading the way.
Phew! I shakily wiped my forehead with the back of my hand and watched. Dear God this is going to be a looong day....
-----
After ages slowly creeping along and following them we arrived at a huge tree. It had much more than 5m in diameter and was taller than a 2 storey building .
Ropes dangled down around the edge and stone tiles were littered around the edge. Some had signs all over it, just had small symbols. It had magic written all over it and I remember Felix telling me something to do with stones and symbols.
I felt around in my pocket and located what I was looking for. A dagger, my family's dagger. Recently I had taken it into my hands everywhere I went.
The older I get the more demons I attract and the more demons means the bigger and deadlier ones that aren't afraid to just sneak up and kill.
So yes, I'm not being crazy- just cautious.
Bates and Oscar tied the struggling Felix to a tree. Jakes dad twitched and suddenly Oscar and Bates tied up Felix and they all looked up to the sky.
"Run" They all muttered. They began fleeing back in the directions of their cars.
Suddenly the sky began thundering and the ground around us began shaking and vibrating.
Clouds began swirling above us and twirling downwards. I looked up and wind bean to pipe up, my hair failing around me in a desperate twirl.
I pushed my hair away, I tried to stand up. With all the shaking around me It was hard. The trees were all leaning away from the tree Felix was tied to. Black clouds gathered and gathered.
Something was happening. And with 2 magic figures in one place was not good. But whatever happened- Felix must survive.
Felix's POV:
I yanked at the tight ropes around me. Fear began swelling in the pit it my stomach. My black hair began waving around and I knew it was coming.
Lex wasn't here to save me, she ran off when Oscar got possessed. I yanked at the ropes again, trying to at least etch it down since I had no weapons.
"Come monn" I desperately groaned. "Plleeeasssee"
Fear enlarged and my worst fears began to come true. Please, please, please!
I grabbed desperately at the ropes, tugging it harder and harder.
"Felix!" A recognisable female voice screamed.
Lex ran towards me from my right. She emerged from the trees, a family dagger in her hand and terror boiling up in her eyes.
"Lex!" I yelled, smiling "Thank god your here!"
She didn't answer. She was too busy cutting the rope with the dagger. She was hurrying like mad. Something more was bubbling under her skin. Something more than just plain fear.
I looked up at Lex. A tear fell from her cheek but she quickly shook it away and continued cutting the second loop on the rope.
"Lex? Are you crying?!" I yelled.
The wind picked up speed and was whizzing around us in deafening speed and the noise was unbearable
"I can't let you die, Felix!" Lex yanked the last loop and the rope fell down, bundling at our feet.
Lex stood tall and I could see her face clearly now except for her hair waving around. Tears were running down her cheeks but she stood proud. Crying and standing tall is something I could never achieve.
"What's going on Lexus?! Why are you crying?!" I yelled, gripping her fore arm.
"If any of you 4 boys die- I die too!"
I stood frozen and stared at Lex in despair. Realisation flooded back as everything began to make sense.
Lex grabbed my hand yanked me forward, running away from the mess of the tree and the wind. I could barely concentrate.
Lex had made sure she went last when Bates was chasing Oscar and us. Lex nearly died when the talisman was destroyed, protecting us at her house, protecting us from the dogs. She was doing it all to save us- to save her.
Lex suddenly stopped and i slammed into her back, knocking into her.
"We have to hide Felix" Lex admitted.
Tears were still evident on her cheeks and her eyes were red and puffy.
"Oh" I mumbled. I looked down and ahead of us was at least 5 metre drop with scrubs and trees surrounding it.
"We need to jump" Lex gripped my hand tighter.
For once I actually registered that Lex is holding my hand. Wow.
Before Lex could jump off as drag me down with her I pushed us off the drop, tumbling down. I could easily tell that Lex wasn't expecting it all since she was gripping my teeshirt and closing her eyes with her head in my chest.
We landed with a thud on the moss covered ground. I opened my eyes and looked up at the small clearing above the trees.
The sky was returning blue and the wind was dying down.
Lex let go of my shirt and stood up, brushing her hair down. She wiped her eyes and you could tell she was about to cry again.
"I'm sorry- I didn't want to put this burden of trying to stay alive on your shoulders"
She gripped her shoulders nervously. This is a different side of Lex I haven't seen before. She seemed more human with more heart-felt emotions. Lex was a pretty down-to-earth girl but this- this was Lex letting her walls down and actually letting someone in.
I looked up to Lex from my position on the ground. I smiled at the new Lex.
"It's fine Adver, Im glad you told me"
<A/N: Holy Moley! This is such a Lelix moment! This chapter is a huge character development time for Lex.
Like she just totally opened up to Felix- telling him everything's. I can defiantly promise you that Jake, Sam and Andy will end up knowing.
Next chapter is a bit... Tipsy. Like it spans out and everything. You'll get it when you read it>
