CHAPTER Eighteen

Shadowy Secrets

Lexs POV

A few days later...

"The days finally over" Sam groaned, thankful schools done for the day.

I chucked, clicking the lock shut "You and Andy can go flirt with your lovers now- Felix, Jake and I are going to the library"

Sam shrugged waving goodbye to go chase Mia. He was a lost cause for love, so lost that we can't get him out again. With Andy, he was just on the edge, nearly falling inside. Jake and Felix were already at the library so I had to hurry up. I got a small notebook out of the locker, coated in 3D skull hands that latched onto the lock on the side. When opened it looked like skeleton hands were holding the book for me.

I skimmed past the judgemental girls and boys that roamed the lockers after school, waiting for something entertaining to finished off their day. I arrived at the moderately quiet library. Jake and Felix were in the corner, studying away on Phoebes book of shadows and on the Internet where magical wannabes get their say.

I sat down in front of the two, Felix suspiciously eyeing my notebook "Don't tell me..."

"Shut it, I just made my own okay? Uncles spells and a few I've picked up over time" I rolled my eyes, putting the book on his page.

I sat beside Jake that was scrolling through endless amounts of 'magical' website links. I got annoyed that he was even searching the wrong thing.

"Give it here" I snapped, turning the laptop to face me properly.

"Okay then Grumpy queen" He chuckled, watching me quickly type.

"I'm no ones queen, King Jockula" I sassed back.

I clicked enter when I had finished typing (and sassing Jake) the words 'Restoring demon'. The answers were ought to be fake and untrue, probably written by people who haven't even seen anything the slightest magical. Jake clicked on a reasonable looking website that lead us to something I wouldn't expect. The scanned documents looked exactly likes the drawings and text from Phoebes book of shadows.

"You don't think" I mumbled slowly, my eyes scanning over it.

"Yeah Lex, I don't think this is a wannabe" Jake finished for me.

"Felix" I quietly shouted, urging him to see this.

His eyes widened with shock once he saw the screen, he quickly started flipping through the pages of the older book of shadows, but instead he found the remains of a ripped out page.

"She took it with her" I slammed my fist on the table, earning a hush from the librarian "that damned woman took it"

"But we have the digital copy" Jake mumbled.

"She wrote on both sides and that?" I pointed to the screen "just explains them, not how to get rid of them"

I could summon a wave of thunderstorms hurdling our way. I was that angry that I wanted to cause damage. I rubbed my gloved hands together, trying not to shoot lighting strikes across the room. She took the answer to this whole problem with her to somewhere and now we're stuck here with a restoring demon hot on our tracks getting more powerful and another soon to be coming when I get older.

"I'm going to take a breather before I smash the computer" I took a deep breath, getting up and heading out of the library.

I leaned against the brickwork of the library, closing my eyes for a second to calm my senses. In my mind I repeated the word 'breathe' to try and lower my anger levels. The current stress that laid on my shoulders didn't help much but it worked slightly.

I still wanted to hurt something. Thunder storms and lightening cause fires and mentally and physically damage anyone who stays in their path. Anger and pain's in my blood and there's nothing I can do about it.

I decided to head over to Mia's locker, just a short walk from the library. She was no longer there thankfully, her small locker in the middle was painted a light green. Inside a total pink frenzy. I punched the metal frame, something going snap on the inside. My knuckles ached and screamed in pain but I ignored it. The area where I punched was black, spreading out to cover the dint. My job was done.

Before anyone could notice I jogged the way back to the library where Felix was writing in the last page of my notebook. Jake turned off the computer and slid it back into the laptop rack against the wall. He noticed my evident smirk, joining me too.

"Well, what did you do?" He asked.

"Nothing that you would be offended by" I smartly replied.

Felix handed me the notebook back to put in the backpack of mine. We were heading off, just one question that lingered while we left the library. Why would she steal the page?

"You destroyed her locker? You could of done that to Trent not Mia!" Sam yelled, throwing his arms about.

We ducked under and jumped over the wooden fences, grabbing into Jakes hand for help. Andy and I secretly high-fived making sure Sam didn't know.

"Yes but that would ruin all the fun wouldn't it?" I chuckled.

I pushed a branch away so I wouldn't get hit. Bugs swatted and buzzed around us, annoying me so much. The world should make bugs less buggy and annoying.

"I got Ellen's email address" Andy ruined the silence.

"Ooh groovy, no one emails anymore I'm so sorry" I blurted out, the shack coming into view.

I jogged over to the shack, boot marks scattered the outside of the building. I yelled out, my anger taking control but this positives weighed out the cons.

"Your lock on the door is working" I smiled to Felix.

I brushed the foot marks away, looking around the shack. My eyes scanned for anyone coming past but nothing showed evidence to the eye. I was scared of being captured by the police, I didn't need to be locked up in a cell.

While Andy and Felix went inside and Jake and Sam went for a walk to collect wood for the fire, I stayed behind. I flipped to the last page of my notebook finding neat writing covering the entire last page.

You guys are all Lam (Lex and Sam) & Lelix (Lex and Felix) but I'm here rooting for Jax man (Lex and Jake) but hey... no one knows but me
