Chapter Twenty Two
Going? Gone
Lexs POV
My sleep wasn't the best I've had in a long time. I rolled all night and mumbled in my sleep. So when Felix woke me up, I wasn't in a good mood. I grabbed his hand and he pulled me up. Sam wasn't up but the rest of us were. As the boy slept we devised a plan for today before school the following day.
"So Lex and I will go and fetch Oscar before meeting the rest of you guys at Phoebe's?" Felix finalised.
Well that was the plan. Felix had grown to a walking Oscar and it was nice to see yet I was worried. What if Felix got too attached? I was fearing that when they came back home with me beside them, he wouldn't appreciate his Oscar, in his world. I never brought it up though, the reaction would be unknown and dangerous.
''Well then, later dorks!" I got up, beginning to walk towards the door. "Stay safe!"
'
"Maybe less sarcasm there Lex" Andy laughed.
"Less sarcasm? Oh thy do hope I will see thy gentleman later with good fortune and merry happiness!" I sarcastically bowed towards Jake, Andy and a waking Sam.
"Can you be any more sarcastic Adver? Wait don't answer that" Felix quickly shut the question down, closing the door behind him.
Felix and I began to walk back into town, the long stride ahead of us were not fun and entertaining. Felix discussed random musical pieces and the gothic Ellen he knew back home. It was strange to hear that the preppy, kind Ellen I knew was also a sarcastic, piercing-wearing Goth. It was also funny to picture it in my head.
"Is there anyone else that has dramatically changed?" I asked, finally seeing Bremn up ahead.
"For starters you're here" Felix joked around.
I rolled my eyes at the silly little joke he did. The sun was beating down from behind us, not a cloud in a sky and the streets calm and collected. It seemed oddly relaxed and it made me anxious. There were always something in Bremin, maybe a fight or skating through the streets but nothing; Bremin looked ordinary.
"Is it just me or does something seem, weird, with Bremin today?" I asked Felix, turning onto Oscar's street.
"No, the talisman isn't glowing so it cant be that weird. Why, does something feel wrong with you?" He asked, his face burned with concern.
"I don't know yet Felix, something just feels off" You sighed, "Don't worry about it though, its probably just lack of sleep, I'll figure it out later"
Felix walked up through the garden and I followed promptly, standing behind him as he knocked on the door. Felix always got a little edgy around this place, it was his home in the other universe after all. The door opened and a kind, smiling was on the other side.
"Felix, Lexus!" Mrs Ferne happily greeted, bringing Felix into a hug. "How are you two? Where are the others?"
"They're still sleeping, is Oscar home?" I asked, standing beside Felix.
"No actually, he walked out a few minutes ago to go and search for you! What a coincidence!" Mrs Ferne replied.
Felix and I shared a worried look before thanking the mother and jogging down the driveway to the road. If Oscar went looking for us then anything could of happened.
"Where do you think he would go looking Felix?" I asked him, looking up and down the street.
"I don't know Lex, we have to find him" Felix muttered
