Chapter ONE.

Newbies and Laughter

Lex's POV

"Good Morning students, we have 4 new students" Mr Bates announced at the front of the bleak classroom. I strained to see. No, I'm not blind I just like to sit at the back of the classroom.

4 new kids? I looked up and there were 4 boys; Goth, Chinese, Brownie and Blondey. Something's not right... Don't ask me how but I don't get the same feeling when I'm near them.

2 sat up near the front and 2 others sat at the back near-ish me, The goth and blonde.

"Okay students, get out your workbooks" Mr Bates clapped his hands together.

"Do you have a workbook I could borrow?" The gothic boy asked, leaning over to me.

"Yeah, sorry if its got...drawings in it" I handed him my spare geography book. I use it to draw things, skulls, lighting bolts.

"Skulls?" He asked, throwing me a small smile as he opened the first page.

"Yeah, Skulls" I let out a laugh.

"Lex!" Mr Bates called from the front of the classroom. I snapped my head around and he was standing there with his arms crossed, halfway through a paragraph.

"Hi" I waved politely.

"Lex, just stop talking please or you will get a detention" Mr Bates sighed.

"Lex, just stop talking please or you will get a detention" I mimicked under my breath.

"Your names Lex?" Goth boy asked.

"Lex, Lex Adver" I smirked, shooting

him a cheeky grin.

"Felix, Just Felix" He shot back the smile.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

I had wasted 2 periods of my life in that horrid classroom and it finally recess. I stood up grabbing my books.

"Here" Felix said, handing me the book.

"Keep it, you'll need it" I warned him. Felix doesn't have many books, you can clearly see.

"Thanks" he mumbled.

I sped my way out of the classroom and to my black locker which was just around the corner. I shoved all my books inside my locker and headed back outside. Outside was basketball courts, a small football field and just benches and trees. I took my normal bench at the edge of the buildings and I got relaxed, stretching my legs across the bench.

The strange 4 came out not too long after me, they were talking, that's a definite but I couldn't quite near since I was about 20-30 metres away.

They went to the benches near the basketball courts and started privately talking. Something is up with them, something not... normal. But I'm not normal either so ey. I fiddled with the hems of the thin, leather black gloves that protected my hands from my letting lighting loose. See, I'm a loner. Loner as can be.

I shoved my hand in my pocket and grabbed a thin square. Bubble Gum. I grabbed a piece and threw it in my mouth.

"Freak" giggled a voice from some overrated make up girl that walked past.

"I would be a freak if I had a face like that" I retorted, ending in hysterical laughter. The strange 4 must of heard because they looked over and began laughing.

I fiddled with the back of my head where my hair tie was, keeping my brown and blonde hair out of the way. I took it out letting it fall over the black arm of the bench.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

Once again, my freedom was cut short as normal.

Art went by fast, for me of course since I did nothing. So when I was going back to my bench there was something I didn't expect. Felix.

"Felix" I nodded,taking a seat at the end of the bench.

"Lex" Felix shot back. What is he doing? Then came the other 3, nerd, blonde and brunette.

"Gum?" I asked. They sat down on the bench, Chinese was next to me.

"Um Sure" He reluctantly answered. I handed him the packet of mint green gum.

"So what brings you here, to my

bench?" I asked, eyeing Felix who obviously brought them here.

"Your bench?" The blonde asked sarcastically.

"Guys, Guys" Felix shouted, shutting his friends up. "Let's be nice, Shes Lex, Lex Adver"

"Sup" I nodded, shooting a hand gun at them.

"I'm Andy" The Nerd said. "That's Sam and Jake" he pointed to the brunette and the blonde. Ahh, they have names!

"Why is it your bench?" Sam asked, throwing me back the packet of gum.

"I've been sitting here since day 1, every day, all day" I retold.

"That's lonely" Andy laughed.

"I didn't know you knew my middle name" I sarcastically shot back.

"Middle name?" Andy asked.

"Here I'm known as Miss Freak Lonely weirdo Adver" I frowned, throwing my legs, under the chair. We kinda ended the convosation there as the sadly familiar beeping broke it off.

"Well, See ya" I smiled, picking up my backpack. I got up, brushing my hair off to my right shoulder.

"Where are you going?" Felix asked, stopping me in my tracks.

"Home. Duh" I sighed.

"We have 2 more periods left" Sam told me, looking at his timetable.

"That's the thing" I pointed my finger at them. "I skip last 2 periods every Monday"

"Doesn't your parents get mad?" Andy asked shocked. We were the one last ones left out of buildings.

"I would rather not talk about that" I shut off the convosation there, walking away from them and jumping over the fence.

Parents? touchy subject, he should of never brought it up,
