Chapter FOURTEEN
Hiding from the Yellow & Black
Lexs POV
"Leeeexxxxx" A voice groaned, shaking my arm. "Wake up"
I slapped their hand away and rolled over onto my stomach. Half of my body was hanging over half of the couch but I didn't mind.
Saturday is a day for sleeping in and that's exactly what I'm going to do. Especially since the recent events that have occurred.
"Lex something's happened and you really need to see it" Andys voice snapped, shaking me one last time.
"Fine, lemme get dressed " I groaned, getting up from my not-so comfortable position on the couch.
After a few minutes of getting dressed I wandered outside where everyone else was and the sigh was astounding, something you wouldn't believe.
In a large semi-circle there was a wall of yellow and black buzzing bees over the property. Only cracks of sunshine and daylight beamed through the small gaps.
"Your uncles barrier must be stopping them" Felix mumbled, looking back to a book in his hands.
"But how do we get out?" Andy asked, trying to sum up a solution.
"Disguises and a car" Jake laughed, clapping his hands together.
"What do you mean?" I asked, turning to him.
"If the bees follow us we need something to hide us, right?" Jake laughed, running inside the house and coming out with my fathers car keys.
"Your going to drive my dads car?" I asked, walking to the garage.
I stood with the other boys and watched as Jake opened up the garage and revel my late fathers black 4WD.
"When was the last time this was
used?" Sam cautiously asked.
"A few years ago..." I cringed.
"None of us have a drivers license either" Andy corrected us, stopping Jake in his tracks.
He was just about to open the drivers side door but instead threw his hands up in frustration.
"How are we going to get out of here now?" He frustratedly yelled, walking away from the black and white garage.
We awkwardly stood around, stupid ideas bubbling up inside our brains. I suddenly thought of a genius idea that might as well get yelled at for.
Jogging inside the house, I quickly reached for my phone and I zoomed through contacts, looking for one person in particular.
"Lexus!" Felix groaned " What are you doing?"
"Our way to get out stupid!" I yelled back to him.
The phone began ringing and not too long afterwards crackling buzzed through and a female voice at the other line.
"Hi Phoebe" I held the phone up to my ear, standing at the doorway of the house.
"Hi Lex"
"We have a problem- we need a favour"
"Is that why your late?
"Perhaps? You know my address?"
