Luke's POV

John never did tell anyone what we did to him that night, I knew he wouldn't. I'd only been with Zach and his friends a week or so when I was walking down the hallway during class and I saw Ivy walking towards me I bumped into her slightly

"Oh sorry" She said

"Actually I'm not" She interjected

"Ivy it's me. You don't need to be an ass" I said jokingly "Oh I'm the ass? You need to take a good look at yourself. Honestly Luke you're a complete dickhead now. What happened? You never liked Kacy but now you're dating?" She continued talking while I just watched her get frustrated

"You don't know me." I said "Yes I do. I know the real you, I have no idea who this is" She said poking me in the chest making me step back slightly, she had really bony fingers

"This is me. I've grown up I'm not you're play pal anymore" I said trying to be harsh I needed her to believe I was gone, that we where not friends and that we never would be again "You didn't grow up you changed for those assholes. Something you promised me you'd never do" She shouted waving her hands in the air dramatically I rolled my eyes at her, she could be quite the drama queen sometimes.

As she huffed and turned away from me I knew I'd gotten her to believe me. That she truly believed that I'd left her, alone. I should've been triumphant but instead I just felt pain and guilt.

She was right, I did tell her I'd never change. We spoke one day about it because she'd said "Don't tell me you don't notice the girls staring at you in every class" I shook my head and received an annoyed groan in return "What?" I asked she looked up at me "Every girl in this school wants to be with you" She said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world "Not all of them" I shook it off "Yes Luke! Oh my god how do you not see?" She asked I rolled my eyes at her "Just promise me you won't become one of those assholes who dates a new girl every week and who leaves his best friend behind to be a loner" She said I scoffed at her "I'm serious Luke. Promise me" She said serious looking me right in the eyes "Alright, I promise" I told her and she smiled a beautiful smile at me.

I meant it too, I didn't want to become one of those guys with a terrible reputation with girls. I wanted to be one of the nice boys who treated his girl like a princess and I would if I had the girl I wanted.

Ivy's POV

Calum's birthday was coming up and me and Michael where walking around the shopping centre looking for a present to buy him "We could just get him a beanie. He likes wearing beanies" He suggested "One beanie? Between the two of us? Michael. No" I said shaking my head at him "Fine what's your big idea then?" He questioned angrily "I don't have one. But we cannot get him one beanie between both of us. Besides you should know what to get him you've known him longer than I have" I told him he narrowed his eyes "Yeah whatever" He said dryly I rolled my eyes at him "Ivy?" He asked leaning over to whisper in my ear "Yes Michael?" I asked confused "Who is that guy staring at us?" He asked I followed his eyes and saw Luke staring at us from across the clothes shop.

My breath caught in my throat I tried to step back but fell into Michael "Ivy you've gone really pale who is he?" He asked as I turned away from Luke's glare "No one. We should go" I told him pushing him backwards "Ivy, I'm not moving until you tell me who this guy is" He said holding me in place I shook my head "Please Michael, Can we just go?" I asked I felt my hands begin to shake I can't stay here. I had to get out of here I struggled to get out of Michaels grip on my arms as soon as he'd released his grip I ran out of the shop and out of the shopping centre all together.

I came to a halt and tried to catch my breath. The way Luke made me feel was a way I'd never known before. He used to make me breathless but back then it was his sheer beauty but now it was fright that made my lungs hurt.

I could hear my phone ringing in my pocket so I dug into my pocket and pulled it out sliding it to answer when I saw the name flashing on the screen "Ivy! What the hell just happened? I can't find you anywhere were are you?" Michael asked frantically "I just needed to get away." I told him slowly "Then you can come back now huh?" He asked more calm now "I can't Michael. I'm just going to go home" I told him "No don't, I'll come to were you are and we'll get a coffee or whatever okay? I'll pay" He said softly I sighed lightly "Okay. I'll meet you at the coffee shop on the high street in a minute" I told him "Okay see you there" "Mines a hot chocolate by the way" I said before hanging up.
