Michael's POV

As soon as Luke and I left town I regretted it. I knew Calum would be worried by now especially with the note I'd left but I was about to write more until Luke arrived shouting tat we had to leave so I left if there. Not that Luke wasn't alright to hang around with but I knew of the trouble he had caused last time he was in Melbourne and he'd just left it there and I hoped that the trouble wouldn't come looking for him well for us. I found it difficult to get Calum out of my head I left my phone at home so I couldn't call him to at least tell him that I was okay and for him not to worry "Do you have any change?" I asked Luke as the thought came into my mind "Why?" He asked "I want to call Calum" Worry spread across Luke's face "You're not going to leave are you?" I shook my head "I just want to tell him that I'm okay" I assured him "He probably hasn't noticed that you're not there yet, Michael. Didn't he ignore you at that party after Ashton hit you?" "He didn't know" I defended my best friend even though I'm not sure I should be, Luke's right he must've heard the shouting it wasn't a big house Luke held out a hand full of change for me l "Never mind I don't want to call him" I said pushing his hand away "You sure?" "Yeah" I told him harshly letting my anger at Calum hit Luke "Sorry" I quickly apologised he shrugged "I get it" He said with a small smile.

After that we headed to Luke's brothers house I felt nervous because he wasn't expecting us he answered after one knock "Luke" He shouted slightly pulling Luke into a bear hug "Hi, Ben" Luke sounded uncomfortable so his brother pulled away coughing awkwardly "Sorry, are you coming in?" He asked Luke looked back at me "This is Michael, Michael this is my older brother Ben" He introduced "Oh hi you alright mate?" Ben asked smiling at me "Yeah" I said "He's just tired" Luke said apologetically I didn't want or need him to apologise for my behaviour but I didn't pull him up on it.

We went into Bens small apartment and I looked around the walls to see pictures scattered all over. Some were of Luke but only one or two I stepped forward to look at one and the edges looked burnt which confused me "What happened to this?" I asked Luke when his brother wasn't in the room "He probably saved it from being burnt by Liz" He said bitterly "His ex?" "No, mother" I didn't know how to react to this so I just gave him a sympathetic smile and he returned it but not sincerely.

His brother returned to long after and we both took a seat on the couch I stayed quiet as Luke and his brother talked and caught up on stuff there was a knock on the door and I was glad when Ben asked me to go and answer it which I did. I pulled open the heavy front door and saw blonde haired woman she was shorter than me but she looked older "Who are you?" She asked narrowing her eyes "I'm Michael who are you?" "Liz" I shut the front door and ran into the front room "Michael, what's wrong?" Luke asked quickly "Your mum, she's at the front door" I told him he jumped up from the couch "Shit" Ben said "You can't be here. She can't see you here. She'll kill me" He said pacing up and down more loud knocks on the door followed "She's not going away" I warned them "Come on, Michael, we're leaving. He's too scared of his mum to help his little brother" Luke said pushing past his brother with his shoulder "Luke wait, please" Ben pleaded pulling on his brothers arm but Luke shook him off "Don't touch me. I don't know why I bothered coming back here. Fuck you" Luke spat and he walked away toward the front door pulling it open. The shock on his mother's face was clear "Yeah its me are you surprised?" Luke asked before she had time to speak Like was gone and I was picking up our bags and trying to run after him

"Luke" I shouted as I neared him but he kept jogging away "For fuck sake, Luke if you don't come and get your bag of shit I'm leaving it here" I shouted dropping his bag to the floor and walking in the opposite direction "Where are you even going? You've never even been here before" He shouted after me "I don't care where" I said putting my middle finger up at him I heard him laughing before his footsteps got closer and I felt his arm around my shoulder "Don't be mad at me. I just lived my nightmare like two minutes ago" "I'm not mad" I told h shrugging his arm off of my shoulder "You seem mad" He said stepping in front of me "I'm not" I told him laughing at the face he was pulling "Good. Now, do you want to ring anyone? I mean I guess Calum with be worried about you. I don't know why I said that earlier, sorry" He said falling back into step beside me "I guess I should" I said and we headed for the nearest phone booth

"Michael?" Calum's voice jumped through the speaker he sounded tired

"Yeah its me" I told him

"Thank god you're okay. I've been looking everywhere for you for two days, Michael"

"What about school?" He actually liked school so I didn't think he'd skip

"Its no fun when you're not there. I just searched any place we've been before that you might have gone where are you? I'll come get you in mums car"

"Its too far a drive for you to come get me"

"No its okay I'll do it"

"I'm in Melbourne" I finally told him

"Melbourne? What? Why?"

"I, we left Saturday"

"Who's we?"

"Me and Luke" I reluctantly told him

"Luke? Why the fuck are you with Luke?" He sounded slightly upset

"Because he was going to leave and I didn't want him to then he asked me to come and I accepted"

"I don't understand why you wanted to run away"

"Of course you don't you where too busy with Ashton at that stupid party to realise that I was dying being in that house and then he started that fight with me and you weren't even there. I bet you were with some stupid girl trying to get your mind off of Kylie again and I'm fucking sick of coming second best to some girl you've know for two minutes, Calum. I've known you for 10 years, 10 fucking years but that obviously doesn't mean shit to you so don't even try and pretend to be worried about me because you're not" I slammed the phone down and let my body slide to sit on the floor the door opened and Luke knelt down beside me "I wouldn't sit down there mate. Its all dirty" He said pulling me up "Don't cry" He told me I hadn't realised that I was until I felt my cheeks and they were damp "Sorry" I said using the sleeve of my shirt to get rid of them but the kept pouring "Don't be. That was a tough phone call. At least you told him your feelings. I know you haven't been thinking of much else" He told me giving me a smile I nodded "We've both had a tough night. Let's go" Luke said and we began walking through the town
