Luke's POV
I finally left my tiny B&B room for the first time in what must have been at least a week I had become a recluse in the past few weeks. It was only early afternoon so I decided to go to the park. I walked around for a while until I stumbled across Ivy just staring into space as she sat on the grass.
My feet carried me over to her immediately, she didn't even notice that I'd sat down beside her until I whispered a hello to her. I expected her to get up and run away from me but instead she stayed and said "Oh hi Luke, Makes a change to see you on your own" laughing dryly keeping her eyes looking at something I wasn't sure of "What do you mean?" I asked "Kylie, Your little puppy dog. I thought she was glued to your side" She said making me laugh lightly "Nah I got bored of her so we are 'taking a break'" I said using my fingers as I spoke she shook her head back and forth making her hair swing around
"You're such a player, Luke" She said "Am not" I argued, I was slightly hurt that she thought of me that way she rolled her eyes "You are. You never stay with a girl longer than like, a week" She told me watching me with wide eyes "Well maybe I'm looking for the right girl and I haven't found her. What's the point in staying with someone you don't have any feelings for? That would just hurt both of us" I told her watching her now
"Maybe you did find her but you didn't give the relationship a chance. How can you tell if she's the one after a week long relationship?" Ivy argued leaning back on her elbows and closing her eyes tilting her face towards the sky "Because I fall fast. I know when I've fell for someone and I haven't with any of the girls I've been out with" "Sounds to me that you've already fell for someone" "I did. A long time ago and the feelings are still there so I try to get rid of them with other people but it hasn't worked" I told her honestly, I found it weird that I was talking to her about being in love with her for two years and she had no idea.
It felt nice to just sit and talk to Ivy like the old times without her looking at me like she was afraid of me. Of course, I understood that she was scared of me but I wasn't like that anymore.
Not after my' friends' were the ones that put me in hospital the last time. I'm not sure why I lied about who'd actually beaten me up, I suppose I was scared of what they might do to me if they found out. Michael had saved me from what I knew they were capable of doing. I'd seen it myself, I'd also done it myself.
Ivy and I stayed in the park until it was late evening "Luke, I never got to thank you for saving me from the fire" Ivy said suddenly stopping as we were leaving the park I stopped and turned to her shrugging "It was nothing. I wasn't going to leave you there was I?" I asked smiling at her she looked down at the ground kicking a stone away awkwardly "No, I guess not. I just wanted to say thanks is all" She said I shook my head "You don't need to thank you, I would've saved anyone" I lied she nodded "Oh yeah of course" She said beginning to walk again.
Until we came to the gate and we both stopped and just looked at each other "Well, Thanks for today" I told her smiling a confusion filled her features "Why are you thanking me?" She asked "Well because you actually spoke to me, It was like old times. I've missed you, you know that right?" I told her "No I didn't know that. I missed you too, Luke" She said and I couldn't help but let a grin spread across my face "Come here" I said opening my arms she slowly came forward and I closed my arms around her hugging her tightly. Our little moment was ruined by the sound of Ivy's phone ringing she stepped out of my arms and pulled her phone out before answering it.
"Wait, Calum slow down I can't understand you"
"Michael? What about Michael?"
I was only hearing Ivy's side of the conversation but I saw the colour drain from her face before she said "I'm on my way" before running down the street leaving me there.
