Kyungsoo

As soon as Lay stopped the car in front of Jongin's house I knew something was wrong.

"Thanks," I murmured to Lay as I quickly got out. I watched how the vehicle drove off before walking closer to the house, hand close to my gun in case I would need to use it.
Maybe I was just over thinking the fact Monggu wasn't sitting behind the door like he always did when I left him alone and then came back. But something didn't felt right.
I took out the keys from my pocket and put them in the lock. I waited a moment before turning them around and entering the house.

Monggu finally came running through the hallway towards me. I picked him up and walked further. If Monggu was like this there wouldn't be someone in the house. He'd react differently to a burglar or something.
I entered the living room and froze.
A man stood by the slidingdoor with his back facing me. He was smoking a cigarette and one hand on his hip.
Monggu didn't react like it was a stranger, so that meant...

"Dongsun?" I asked surprised.

The man turned around, his face was now illuminated by the light. "Kyungsoo."

"Wh... What are you doing here?" I put Monggu down on the ground and walked over to him. "How did you get in?"

"I have my tricks." He grinned widely before taking another drag. "Where's Jongin?"

"He..." I rubbed my face tiredly before letting out a sigh. "Uncle, there's a lot you need to know. But I have one question; Why are you back?"

"I tried to disappear so I wouldn't have to pay the money back, but I couldn't live with the fact that I left you." He smiled faintly at me before opening the door to throw the cigarette away.

I took a seat on the couch and bit my lip. "You have the right to know what I have done that forced me to leave you."

Dongsun sat down next to me, but made sure to leave space between us. "Then tell me."

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. "I killed someone." I swallowed and opened my eyes to see his reaction. He was staring blankly back at me.
"It was Jongin's dad."

This seemed to snap him out of his thoughts. "Oh Kyungsoo..."

"I regretted it from the moment I did it, but it doesn't matter. I am a horrible person." I licked my lips and noticed they were salty. I touched my cheek and realised I had shed some tears. "He knows."

"Where is he now?" Dongsun had moved closer to me instead of creating more space, what I had expected him to do.

"Well," I took a deep breath before continuing. "Some things happened and he got shot and th-"

"What?!" Dongsun exclaimed. "He got shot?"

"Y... Yeah. They tried to kill me, but he moved in front of me and got shot." I explained.

"Don't tell me he's dead." He looked at me with anger in his face.
The day Dongsun met Jongin and Jongin had taken a shower, Dongsun had told me to protect Jongin and treasure him because he was a good guy and deserved all the love I could give him.
I had tried to do the second, but failed at the first. I hadn't been able to protect him.

"He's not." I quickly replied, what made him soften his expression. "He has been in the hospital and woke up after a while."

"You scared me." Dongsun spoke while looking at me.

"But he knows I have killed his father and when he was supposed to leave the hospital he walked away with someone. No one knows with who and if he did it because he wanted to or if he was forced to." I sighed deeply and rested my head in my hands. It was difficult to admit what happened since I felt very bad about it. It was all my fault.

"What do you think?" Dongsun questioned, massaging his temples.

"I think he was forced in some way. It would've been a threat or something about someone he really cared about. He left Monggu here and that's one of the biggest reasons I think he didn't leave because he wanted to." I explained.

"So who did it?" He asked.

"The biggest chance is Kris." I replied after thinking about everyone that hated me, because that was probably the reason why all of this was happening in the first place. "Jongin would've told someone that he wanted some time alone or something."

"I understand," Dongsun nodded in agreement. "So what's next?"

"I'm gonna find him." I replied determined. "That's what's next."

"I came back for you, so how can I help?"
After everything I had just told him he still wanted to help me find Jongin. I shook my head, "Lay will find you if you go out and it won't be safe."

"I don't care if-" Dongsun was cut off by my phone. I took it out of my pocket and looked at the message I had just received. "It's from Chanyeol."

"What is it about?" He asked curiously leaning closer. "Isn't that your boss?"

I nodded while reading the text. "He says Jongin called him."
