Jongin
I tried to lift my hand to my aching head but something made the movement impossible. I opened my eyes and blinked a few times to adjust to the light and tried it again. Something cold was wrapped around my wrist and kept me from moving my hand. I turned my head and winced from the sudden pain that shot through it.
I tried it again and again until my eyes could see clear again. My eyes widened and I started pulling harder, making it even more painful than it already was. That bastard had tied my wrist to the bed. I groaned and hissed as the handcuff dug in my skin.I started yelling Jungsu's name in anger and what an asshole he was until I heard footsteps on the stairs. The door swung open and an annoyed Jungsu appeared, "what the hell do you want now?"
"You can't just tie me down!" I yelled. "What if I need the toilet?"
"You can pee in your pants." He answered while moving closer. "I don't care."
Panic slowly rose up in my chest as I thought about not being able to go anywhere if I needed to. "Please don't. I won't try to escape anymore."
"Oh no need to." He smirked and took something out of his back pocket. "Your phone isn't useful anymore, so I broke it."
"No!" I tried to break free again. "Let me go!"
Suddenly Jungsu was closer than I remembered him to be and the next thing I felt was a stinging pain on my cheek. "Nothing is enough for you is it?" He spat. "I can hit you, kick you, fuck you and even then you will keep going. When is it enough for you? I thought the candle holder would be quite painful, but no. Next day you are screaming again."
The tears welled up in my eyes as he remembered me of one of the scariest days in my entire life. "S... Stop. I won't try anything anymore. I won't even talk. Just untie me."
"No." He answered simply. "And if you aren't going to listen now, I'll make sure your mother is in good hands."
"No! Leave her out of this!" I cried out. "Please. She's everything I have left of my family."
"Am I not your family anymore?" He asked with a smug grin.
"No, you never were."
Kyungsoo
I was putting some books in the right spot, where they should have been, when my phone buzzed. I took it out and dropped the books I had clamped between my arm and body, because I couldn't hold them with my hand.
My breath got stuck in my throat as I tried to calm myself down.
I had received a picture from an unknown number. It was Jongin laying on a bed, one wrist tied to the bed as dried blood covered his forehead and his eyes closed. As I read the text underneath it I let out a sigh of relief. For a moment I thought they had actually killed him, but the unknown person wrote:
If you want to have him back come tomorrow night to the barn. I'm sure you know which one I mean ;)
I swallowed uncomfortably, as I looked at the picture once again. Who was this? Was this the guy who had Jongin's phone and told me that he'd see me soon? And which barn?
Suddenly it hit me. I almost choked on my own saliva as I realised what was going on. This was payback.
I had killed Jongin's dad at a barn and this person probably wanted to meet me there. But it didn't make sense to take Jongin and hurt him like this when it was his son. I frowned while thinking of an answer."Everything okay?" Jongdae asked from behind the counter. Since Jongin left, no was taken away, Jongdae or I would take over what he was usually doing, which was handling the cash desk. "You let some books fall to the ground and then you seemed spaced out."
"I'm fine," I assured him and put my phone away. "Just a bit tired."
"I can relate," Jongdae sighed and tapped the pen he was holding against his lips. "It's almsot time though, wanna leave?"
I turned my full body to him, "are you sure?"
He pursed his lips while nodding, "yeah go ahead."
"Thank you," I said and picked up the books off the floor. I quickly put them away before getting my jacket from the back. "See you tomorrow," I spoke before heading out.
I started walking home in a quick pace. I wanted to show Dongsun the picture of Jongin and I should think about what to do next. If Kris didn't have him, I had to start my search all over again. I had no clue who it could be. Probably someone who liked Jongin's dad a lot, but then why hurt his son? It was so weird and didn't make sense at all.
I rubbed my eyes sleepily as I kept walking the familiar way home. Since Jongin had been gone I couldn't sleep well. I was worried sick and every second I slept was a second Jongin was gone for a second longer. I hated to admit that I was the source of every bad thing that happened to Jongin, but it was true. It was all because of me.
I was snapped out of my thoughts by someone calling my name, but I didn't recognise it. Then someone tugged at my sleeve.
I quickly took my knife out and grabbed the other person's arm, pinning him to the wall next to us. I put the knife against his throat, ready to kill him when I noticed it was a familiar face."Xiumin," I spoke, my voice full of disgust. "Tell me one good reason why I shouldn't just slid your throat right now."
He swallowed nervously, "well... I... I want to help you."
"With what?" I asked surprised.
"With finding Jongin."
