Lay

"Yeah you can go." I waved my hand at the people standing in front of me and didn't bother to watch them as they bowed and left my office. A deep sigh escaped my mouth as I flipped through a pile of papers. "I really hate this work sometimes," I spoke to myself.

"I do too."

I lifted my head to see a person standing at the wall on the other side. It was already getting dark outside and the only light in this room was coming from the lamp on my desk. I couldn't see his face but I knew that voice from somewhere. Before I could start thinking about who it could be he took a step further and I gasped.

"Nice to see you again Lay," Kris said before putting a cigarette between his lips. "Got a lighter?"

"What do you want from me?" I asked as I opened a drawer. I searched for my gun but it wasn't there anymore. I frowned. How was that possible?

"I just told you; a lighter." Kris walked closer and placed his hands on the desk, leaning closer.

"Too bad. I quit smoking." I pushed my chair away from the desk by putting my feet against it. I eyed him as he grinned around the cigarette.

"Liar," he spoke softly. "You're too weak to quit."

"Try and find a lighter then Mr. Wu." I spoke as I gestured around me with my hands. "You can keep it if you do."

Kris shook his head, "same old tricks. I am not stupid my friend." He took his hands off the wood and dug a matchbox out of his pocket. He took one out and pressed it against the box, making it break. He threw it on the ground before taking out another one.

I watched him and thought back at the time he had bought a gun while telling me all about how he had found this pitiful teenager with anger issues. He told me about how he had great plans for him and it turned out he wanted to make him a killer. Kris did everything for money.
That time I heard there had been a fire in the kid's house I knew for sure Kris was to blame.
Three days later Kyungsoo himself came by. I had seen him a few times before but he looked like he had gone crazy. He had some cuts on his face and eyebrow, his hair was a mess and his pupils were shooting from one side to the other like he could be attacked at any moment.
He had told me about how Kris had pressured him in putting the house on fire, but that he refused until Kris had told him his parents were gonna get out safe. It was all just about the fire. He finally had poured gasoline everywhere around the house and with shaking fingers he had lit a match, but then crawled back again. He couldn't do it.
Then Kris hit him before he lit another one a throwing it at the house. Kyungsoo tried to get inside to save his parents but the fire was everywhere. He couldn't succeed.
I had wondered why he came to tell his story to me, someone he barely knew and until now I still didn't know.

Kris had lit his cigarette and was staring at me. Watching every move. "Thinking about your life?" He asked.

"Why did Kyungsoo come to me after his parents died?" I could see he was surprised by my question but then turned his face to look out of the window.

"He trusted you." Kris blew out some smoke before looking back at me. "He liked you more than me."

"Who wouldn't," I whispered.

"He thought you could help him," Kris continued, ignoring my remark. "But did you?"

"I'm not sure," I answered honestly. "Maybe I did and didn't."
I could see Kris didn't understand what I meant but instead of asking he took another drag.

"What are you doing here Kris?" I asked. "Coming here to kill me?"

"Who knows," he questioned while taking out his gun.

"You know."

Jongin

I raised the gun and aimed, squinting my eyes a bit closed. Just as I was about to pull the trigger the gun was slapped out of my hands, "why are you so fucking slow?!" Tao yelled close to my ear. "Just shoot!"

"You don't have to yell at me like that," I replied through gritted teeth as I picked it up again. "The only reason that I'm doing this is because Kyungsoo's in the hospital and I wanted to feel useful. I don't want to depend on him anymore."

Tao took a few steps back and eyed me up and down. "If you are talking about how you got locked up in a room by that dickhead this ain't gonna work."

I lowered the gun and stared at him, "what do you mean?"

"That fear is much deeper than when someone who attacks you is actually standing in front of you." Tao spoke while pricking his finger in my chest. "I'm not saying it's not that scary. It's just deeper."

"What do you know about it?" I spat. "Just stop yelling and let me do this."
I turned away from him and raised the gun again. We were still in Lay's so called office, which was actually a building with a lot of rooms, his office, a few empty rooms and he had also made a shooting range. He used it to let his customers try the weapons they had bought.
I aimed and this time immediately pulled the trigger.

Tao glanced at the hole the bullet had made and smirked. "I knew you weren't as helpless as you seem to be."

"Yah!" I huffed offended. "Asshole."

"My specialty," Tao replied with the same smug grin on his face. "You mind if I leave now?"

I shrugged, "I'll be fine here." I knew Lay was upstairs in his office which made me feel safe and now I was holding a gun even more. I felt... Strong.

He patted my back before walking away. As soon as he was gone I refilled the gun and started shooting again. Every time I pulled the trigger a great sensation went from my finger through my arm all the way to my head. A small smile spread across my face. I wasn't the little Jongin anymore. I didn't make drawings anymore that my dad would rip. I wasn't scared of people yelling at me. I wasn't scared of pain anymore. I could take it. Hell I've been shot and I survived. Everyone that tried to get in my way to happiness was gonna get a surprise. Cause I'm not someone to play with anymore.

I had been so deep in thoughts I hadn't noticed a tear was sliding down my cheek. But it wasn't a tear from sadness, it was relief. I finally realized I could stand up and protect myself. I had always been the person that needed someone else to protect me. Kyungsoo was the only one who stood up and fought for what he loved. He fought for me when I needed him.
And now it's time to give something back.

After a while I decided that I should stop and go back to see if Kyungsoo was awake. I had left Baekhyun because Tao had told me he could teach me a few things in the evening and so I came here.
I walked out after putting the gun away when I heard a shot.
