Kyungsoo

*a few weeks later*

I stuck my tongue out a bit as I tried to draw the smile on my own face. It was hard to remember what it looked like and it started to annoy me. I wanted it to be perfect because this was a new beginning. A happy beginning.
I smiled and it was mirrored on the drawing. "Finally," I sighed in relief. "I thought this would take ages."

"Almost done?" Jongin asked, lifting his head up from my stomach. "I want to see."

"Not yet," I replied and stopped for a second to reach out and let his locks slide through my fingers. My hand was once again wrapped in bandage and the wounds would probably turn into scars and stay ugly, but it didn't matter as long as Jongin would hold it in his. I still refused to believe that the scar on my cheek wasn't ugly but he kept insisting and maybe he was right. It was a part of me. All of the ugly scars were part of me.

Jongin pushed himself in a sitting position and shifted to sit next to me, placing his chin on my shoulder. "Did you dream that?" He asked as he pressed a kiss underneath my ear.

I shook my head, "I want this to be a new beginning. I want to make my own dreams."

"A new beginning?" He asked as he stared down at my sketch book. "That's beautiful. I love the fact that we are smiling."

"Me too." I started sketching his hair when Dongsun knocked on the open door. "There's someone who wants to see you Jongin."

"Who is it?"

Dongsun held the handle in a firm grip as he answered, "Minsuh."

I looked up from my work with raised eyebrows, "what does she want?"

"She says she has news and wants to give Jongin something." Dongsun replied. "Can she come in?"

Jongin nodded and so Dongsun went down again and came back with her.
She was holding a package in her hands and I noticed her nails were the same color as she had painted them when I saw her at Lay's.
She didn't look like someone who had lost her boyfriend a few weeks ago which surprised me. I knew that she was cold, but she chose to be with him right?

No one seemed in the mood to talk first so Minsuh walked closer to the bed and handed Jongin the package. "I thought you maybe wanted to know how it ended."

I watched Jongin tear the paper of the rectangular object and saw he started smiling once it was obvious it was a book.

"What is it?" I asked him.

"She gave me this book when I was with them and I never finished it because you, Xiumin and Sehun came to save me." He explained and showed me the book. "Thank you, I appreciate it."

"It's nothing." She looked down at her feet like she was nervous before coughing a little. "I also wanted to let you know that we... I... Can't find your mother."

"She's gone?" Jongin asked surprised.

Minsuh nodded.

"Just gone?" He asked again and Minsuh nodded for the second time.

I eyed him to see his reaction but he didn't seem to be bothered with it. "I don't know what to say. Don't get me wrong, she was my mother, but I'm kind of glad I don't have to worry about her anymore. Is that bad?"

"No, it's not." I immediately replied and placed my hand on his arm. "I understand."

"I'll be going then. If you ever need me, I'm with Lay." Minsuh announced and turned around to leave.

"Thank you," Jongin spoke and she turned around to smile at him.

I was glad she had chosen to go back to living with her brother. She may be cold but that didn't mean she was a bad person that didn't deserve a happy ending. I looked down at my drawing and then at Jongin and noticed he was looking the exact same right now. I smiled and kissed the corner of his mouth. I didn't have to say 'I love you' cause we said it endlessly and he could see it in my eyes.

"Oh and dinner's ready," Dongsun announced as he walked out with Minsuh following him.

"I wonder if it's edible," Jongin murmured as he flipped through the book.

"Did Xiumin cook before?" I asked as I got back to drawing Jongin's hair.

"Sadly, yes." He chuckled and placed the book on his nightstand. "We didn't die but that's the only good thing."

"Please remind me of why we let him cook?"

"He insisted?" Jongin replied insecure.

"If he ruined the kitchen, I'm gonna punish you for letting him." I warned him as I pointed at him with my pencil.

"Punish me, huh," he smirked and wiggled his eyebrows.

I chuckled, "pervert."

"Now I want him to ruin our kitchen," Jongin admitted and stood on his feet. "I'm gonna look."

"You idiot," I joked.

"Please put that away," Jongin asked suddenly as he eyed the gun on my nightstand. "Remember that night you dreamed about someone taking me away and you almost started shooting?"

I nodded and looked away, "I do."

"I don't want it to happen again. It scared me."

"I'll put it away," I said, giving in on his request while continuing to draw.

Jongin smiled at me, "are you coming down for dinner?"

"I'll be down in a bit," I replied and returned the smile. "I'm just gonna finish this one."

Jongin nodded and headed out, leaving the door ajar behind him. "Just don't wait long enough for it to get cold."

"I won't." As soon as Jongin was out of the room I took the gun and examined it. It saved me in lots of situations and I still wanted to keep it close. I opened the drawer of the nightstand and placed the weapon in it. "Just in case," I spoke before getting up on my feet to go downstairs where everyone was waiting for me. I wasn't gonna let anyone take Jongin away again. Ever.

The End

~~~~~~~~~~
Hey guys!
This is really the end and I am quite sad about it. I fall in love with every story I write and it's always hard to say goodbye. Especially now I wrote two books for the same story. I put a lot of work in it and this book was very hard to write. I am satisfied with what I achieved here and hope I wrote a good ending.
I don't want to sound stupid but this book has a piece of me in it. Some of you who know me personally would recognize some things is characters and maybe that makes it even more painful to end it.
I wished I could let my stories live on forever, but I guess that's just a fantasy.
I never write a/n and so I hope you guys read the short texts I write at the beginning and the end of my books because I want you to know these things.
Thank you all who read, voted and commented on this book. I am very grateful and hope you liked it as much as I liked writing it.
Lots of love and hopefully see you again in my story Artificial Water
