Jongin
Instead of running away I ran up the stairs to where I thought the shot had come from. Adrenalin rushed through my body as I made my way to Lay's office. I felt an unknown thrill of excitement as I tightened my grip on the gun.
I didn't know what I would see when I arrived and I sure as hell didn't know why I was running to a place that might involve danger. What was I doing?
Before I could have a doubt about it I stood in front of Lay's office. I wrapped my fingers around the knob and turned it to open the door.
My heart was racing as I stepped in.The two people that were fighting to get a gun only glanced up for a second before the person, I identified as Kris, pulled hard at it, stumbling backwards with the gun in his hands, a smug grin on his face. "Ha!" He called out before pointing it at Lay.
"Stop!" I yelled and lifted my gun. It was slightly shaking from my nervousness but I bit my lip and tried to hold it still.
A chuckled escaped Kris' lips as he lowered the gun, turning to me. "Where did you find that?"
"Shut up!" I snapped. "Stop playing games."
He started chuckling softly before bursting out in a fit of laughter. "Are you for real? You really think I'm gonna listen to you?"
"Jongin," Lay spoke to get my attention. "Don't get yourself in danger when it's not necessary."
"Wise words," Kris said sarcastically. "If you get out right now I won't hurt you. I just came here for Lay."
"No." The word had slipped out before I realized it. "I won't let you."
Kris sighed and took a step closer, "don't make me hurt you Jongin."
"I can shoot you right here, right now." I let my finger curl around the trigger but didn't pull it. "I will."
"Oh my. Are we getting tough?" Kris asked with a chuckle. "Put that down kid or-" He was cut of by a loud bang. I stumbled backwards with my mouth slightly open is surprise and shock; I had pulled the trigger.
Kris sank to his knees and held his shoulder as his breath hitched. "Fuck!"Lay immediately rushed over to his side and picked the gun up of the ground. "Your big mouth is gonna be the end of you someday, but not today."
Kris looked up at him with anger in his eyes before his head turned to me. "You little shit. This hurts like hell!"
I wasn't as much affected by his loud voice as I normally would be. "You were the one that shot me. I could've been dead by now, but I am not. You should be though."
Fear clouded his eyes as he eyed the gun I was holding. I could kill him here. Right now.
"Jongin," he chocked out. "P... Please..."I was surprised by the words coming out of his mouth. "What?"
"Please don't."
I didn't know what to do or say and a silence fell over us. Kris kept whimpering while looking at me.
"Why?" Lay asked, breaking the silence. "Why do you want to kill me?"Kris seemed surprised even though it was a logical question. "I... He told me to."
"Who?" I asked curiously.
"Jungsu," he explained. "He said it would help him to get to Kyungsoo."
I swallowed uncomfortably, suddenly feeling my throat was dry. "K... Kyungsoo?
Kris nodded. "You know I want Kyungsoo gone and he's probably gonna get him somehow." A smirk spread across his face. "Believe me. He will."
"Shut up," I spoke softly. "I'll kill you and Jungsu if I have to. Without a doubt."
They both looked at me with surprised expressions. Was I that much of a softy? They were even surprised I was ready to fight for the one I loved the most. "Lay," I spoke. "What should I do?"
"Nothing Jongin." Lay replied. "I'll deal with him."
"What are you gonna do?" I asked, feeling a sudden uncomfortableness. "You gonna...?"
Lay flashed me a smile before placing his hand on my shoulder, turning me around and leading me towards the door. "I won't kill him, but I'll make sure he won't be in our way again."
"Oh," was all I said.
"Thank you for helping me."
Kyungsoo
I was slowly going crazy. Dongsun had left again to go back to the others, which I told him to do, so I was alone again. I sighed loudly before turning around, groaning from the pain in my head. I lifted my hand to massage my temple and sighed again. I couldn't wait to get out of this hospital, but I knew this was the best place for me to be and it bothered me. Why should I hide and seek for safety while I could attack. Well, at least try.
I pushed myself in a sitting position and swung my legs over the edge of the bed. They had given me my own clothes so I would be able to just walk out of this building. I liked the idea and a small smile appeared on my face. Maybe...
I stood on my feet and searched for my shoes before putting them on. I always had hated the idea of not being able to go where I wanted to go and this hospital triggered that feeling even more. It was one of the reasons I had stopped going to school. I had been smoking on the streets most of the time and that was one of the reasons Baekhyun had stopped telling people we were friends.
I never really gave Baekie back what he deserved. I had been a bad friend and when I came back from prison I had been a burden. I had never thought about it that way.I stood up again and walked to the door. Just as I was about to open it someone walked in, almost smacking the door in my face. "I'm sorry," Jongin apologized and immediately pulled me in his embrace.
I hugged him back and buried my face in his neck. "I missed you."
Jongin pulled back to look at me and his smile faded. "Sorry for that too. I just felt so useless and wanted to do something." He eyed my shoes and raised his eyebrows. "You wanted to go somewhere?"
"Ehm... No." I closed the door before pulling him towards the bed and sitting down. "Where have you been?"
"I went back to Lay," he started while taking my hand, following a line with his thumb. "Kris showed up."
I grabbed his hand in a firm grip, "why?"
"I was downstairs and heard a shot, so I went up to see-"
"What?!" I asked, cutting him off. "You are supposed to run away from shots Jongin."
"Well, I didn't." Jongin shrugged before continuing. "And Kris and Lay were fighting. The point is, I shot Kris in his shoulder an-"
"You what?!" I exclaimed.
"Stop interrupting me Soo." Jongin complained. "Don't tell me you also think I'm weak. Kris laughed when I pointed the gun at him."
"Jongin, I don't think you are weak. I'm just worried about you." I explained. "I don't want you to go out and risk your life."
"I am still here, right?"
I shook my head. "How did you get a gun anyway?"
"It's yours," he whispered and looked away. "I found it in our room."
I wanted him to give it back, but something in his voice made me swallow the words. He looked up at me and flashed me a smile.
I chuckled and pulled him in another hug. "Please don't act reckless, I don't want you to get hurt.""I know. I just want to find a way to end this all."
"We will," I assured him. "Soon."
