Jungsu
"I really thought you were better than this!" I held the phone away from my ear to not get deaf as the woman kept yelling. "You let them escape and didn't tell me!"
"I hoped I could get him back quickly," I explained. "That's why I didn't inform you."
"Well you didn't, did you?!" There was a long sigh at the other end before she spoke in a calmer way. "Just make sure to kill him."
"I won't disappoint you," I assured her. "You just need to let us do our thing."
"I trust you Jungsu, don't fail." She warned me.
"I won't." I ended the call and sighed loudly, rubbing my forehead with the palm of my hand. "We can't attack him while he's with your brother. We have to wait."
"Do you think Lay knows?" Minsuh asked as she stared at the gray building.
"Who cares?" I shrugged while tugging my phone away.
"He's my brother." She turned her face to me, but didn't find the support she needed in my eyes and looked back again. "Fine. Who cares."
Kyungsoo
"No," I murmured softly. In my dream I was searching for Jongin in a dark building. It was so dark I couldn't even see my own hand. I could feel the walls at both sides of the hall as I spread my arms. It was suffocating, warm and I could feel sweat sliding down from my forehead. "No."
The ground was slippery and I almost lost my balance when I walked further. I had no clue where I was heading but I couldn't stop. I knew Jongin was here somewhere.
"Jongin!" My raspy voice echoed through the empty hall. "Jongin."
Suddenly I could feel something hard in front of me. My fingers touched the cold material and my breath hitched in fear. I couldn't walk any further. Panic started taking over my body as I desperately searched for a way to go further. "Jongin!" I yelled as I banged on the material.
"Kyungsoo." Jongin's voice was all around me. "I'm here."
I stopped with what I was doing and turned around. I couldn't hear where his voice was coming from, there was too much echo. When I turned around again I was standing in a room. I took a few steps back and hit the wall."Kyungsoo." Jongin's voice was now clear and came from further into the room. I turned my head and saw he was sitting on a chair with Jungsu beside of him. His clothes were covered with blood and his face wrecked up while Jungsu just stood there with a smirk.
"Jongin," I choked out. "What..."
"You let them hurt me." Jongin spoke. His lip was busted and the blood that came running down from his nose left a bloody trace.
"I... I didn't..." I didn't know what to say. "I didn't mean to."
"You promised me," Jongin spoke again. "But you weren't there."
"I will always be there."
"No, you left me." Jongin protested. "And they got me."
Jungsu started moving and I noticed he was holding a bat, raising it up high."No!"
My eyes flew open as I sat up straight in bed, my heart racing like crazy. I looked at my side and saw Jongin sleeping peacefully. I sighed in relief before rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. I just laid there for a while looking at the ceiling before opening the drawer and taking out the cigarette and lighter I had taken from Lay. I swung my legs over the edge and got out of the bed, walking over to the big window. I tried to open it without a sound and let the cold air in.
I lit the cigarette and took a long drag.
The cold air made me shiver slightly but also forget my dream. It wasn't gonna happen, I wouldn't let them.I looked down at my hand and realised I should go to the hospital. What if it got infected? Yeah I probably should, but my stupid ass was scared.
The scars on my upper body were visible in the moonlight and I hated them. I hated how they remembered me about the pain and the horrible time."What are you doing?"
I turned around to look at a sleepy Jongin. His hair was messy and his eyes half lidded from tiredness.
"I just had a bad dream." I glanced down at my cigarette before looking back at him. "Sometimes I need it. Sorry."
Jongin hummed, "just make sure to come back. It's cold here alone."
I took another drag before smiling. "Of course. Who would be so stupid to leave you alone in a bed?"
"You know," Jongin spoke and bit his lip. "You look really hot right now."
"Maybe smoking is cool after all," I joked with a grin. "Or do you mean the fact I'm only wearing boxers?"
Jongin just shook his head with a chuckle, but his face dropped. "Soo?"
I lifted my head to look at him but he didn't continue. I threw the cigarette out of the window before closing it and walking over to the bed. "Something wrong?" I got under the sheets again and Jongin pulled me close, resting his head on my chest.
"I'm just... Scared. That's all."I hugged him tightly and kissed his head. "I understand."
"What's gonna happen next?" He lifted his head to look at me. "What are you gonna do?"
"I'm gonna find a way to end this. Don't worry." I smiled at him but I knew it didn't fool him. I was worried as well. So many things could happen that would lead to me dying. Because that's all they want right? Killing me. No one else, just me. "Maybe I should just let them have me." I hadn't realised I said it out loud.
"What are you talking about?" Jongin asked with a frown. "You can't just say that."
I looked at him and noticed his bottom lip was trembling. "Jongin... I..."
Jongin pushed himself away from me and caught his bottom lip with his teeth to stop it from moving. "How can you say that?"
I opened my mouth but couldn't think of anything that would make it better. "I'm sorry."
"Promise me you won't try and end it like that." Jongin's voice was soft but demanding.
"I promise." I pulled him into my embrace again and pressed a kiss on his temple. "I won't leave you like that."
