"What happened?"
"What did you see?"
"What were your flashbacks about?"
"What was your past like?"
Nova had been bombarded with questions like no other, left and right, it was like a never-ending story. Her breath started picking up it's pace, rough and heavy, she felt like she'd been tampered with in the worst way's possible. Gripping at her long blond hair, she practically tore at it, almost going insane.
"S-Stop," She whispered, not able to speak any louder than that.
Hearing voices in her head, mimicking the Glader boys voices, making them louder and louder. Banshee-like screams playing in the back of her head, and past memories flashing back in her blank mind. She began to think, she really has gone mad. As mad as a hatter. Maybe even madder.
Until, soon, Nova snapped, out of insanity. It was as if something had clicked in her brain, because before everyone knew it, she was sprinting like the little Runner she was. She sprinted fast and mighty, and out of the Homestead she went.
"Nova, wait!" Newt called out for her, but Nova didn't stop, she didn't look back. She just ran, like she were a wild animal that hasn't been tamed. Instincts hit Newt, as he started to limp jog after her, trying to catch up, but couldn't. Everyone else following.
Minho quickly stopped Newt, "Just let her go, she needs to be alone, if it wasn't already obvious." The rest of the Gladers had stopped as well, noticing Minho had a good point.
Newt's breath slowed as he nodded, "Yeah-" He looked at his friend. Adding, "-Yeah okay, your right."
And so, he let Nova go, to have some time to herself, to gather her bearings before telling her big story.
----
Nova stopped in front of the open Walls, thinking for a small bit. The Maze? She asked herself. No, no, not yet. She shook her head.
Instantly, Nova darted to the Deadheads, heading to one thinking-spot in particular. It wasn't her first thinking-spot, she didn't think she could just sit in the middle of the Glade, not after what had happened, at least. So, therefore, she headed to her second thinking-spot. To be alone, finally.
She climbed up the tallest tree - the very first tree she found in the past, for that matter - and made herself comfortable. Calming herself down, now that everything was silent and she was alone. She could think back at what exactly happened, and she could think on how she was going to explain everything to everybody.
She needed time, the world needed time. "So much time," She said this one out loud, whilst kneading her finger-nail.
"For what?" Hearing the unfamiliar voice of a boy below her designated tree.
"Huh?" Nova slightly flinched, looking down, almost forgetting that she could clearly see absolutely nothing. Sighing to herself, she was so out of order, so unusual.
"Time for what?" He repeated.
He didn't sound familiar. She thought.
"I don't talk to shuck-faces I don't know, sorry." Nova clearly wasn't in the mood for messing around.
"Well, your talking to me right now, so." The boy shrugged his broad shoulders, with pursed lips.
"Cheeky, I see," Nova choked out a sly snicker. "Minho has more sass than your future ever will." She smirked.
"Wow," The boy coughed out. "such sass, much sarcasm."
Nova chuckled. "Learned from the best. After a few years, you seem to pick it up, we do share the same job, so."
"Who exactly?" The boy asked.
"Minho." She answered without hesitation.
Did he not hear me say his name before? She thought.
"Oh, him," He nodded, blowing out, as the air smelled awkward quickly.
"So," The boy started up again. "You're ruder than I'd expected."
Nova rolled her clear eyes, "I'm usually not like this, I'm just, stressed." She shrugged.
"From what?" He asked, looking up at her.
Holding onto her legs tighter to her chest, she shook her head, "I don't want to talk about it right now."
He nodded, but didn't bother to answer.
Listening to Nova sigh loudly in her special tree, she leaned more back into the branches. "Finally, some alone time."
The boy cleared his throat, "Still here."
"Oh?" Nova answered quickly. "Sorry, I don't know if you know this yet, but-"
"Your blind, I know," He grinned.
"Wait," She furrowed her eyebrow's. "How?"
"Newt warned me, so I wouldn't annoy you about it." He chuckled.
"Oh." Nova repeated, this time, more genuine. And she smiled at that fact.
"Anyway," Nova moved onto a different subject. "What's the name, Greenie?"
"Thomas," The boy - Thomas - smiled back.
"And mine is, No-" She started, but got cut off.
"-Nova, I know." He breathed.
"Newt?" She asked.
"No," He giggled. "Gally."
"Good that."
