Nova fiddled her fingers as she carefully entered the dark room, she couldn't see the darkness of the room, but she could just tell that it was. The moment the door creaked to a close right behind her, was the moment she regretted ever stepping foot into the room.

Lights turned on in the room, but the brightness didn't phase her. It was obvious on why.

Nova saw a set of particles from across the table that stood right in front of her, it was almost as if this person was expecting her presence. All of the mixed vibrations and colors washed away, as the floor was clean of shattered glass and guns. The floor in this room was nice and flat, allowing Nova to see.

The particles were white as snow. Nova breathed in disbelief, "... Mother?..."

"I see you've finally come to conclusions of who I am to you," The woman in white explained. "because the last time you saw me, it was in your flashbacks and you called me by my name."

She then adds with a tight grin, "So, therefore, I'm glad you decided to use the term 'mother' instead of my name."

Nova realized she'd slipped, and she mentally scolded herself for giving the woman that type of satisfaction. Crossing her arms, she huffed heavily. Clearly annoyed at herself.

Nova could still hear the woman on the big monitor, but now it was a mumble, considering the door is closed.

"How are you here, when you're talking out there on the monitor?" Nova asked, confused.

"Don't worry, darling, its pre-recorded." Ava answered.

Ava then tapped the table-top with the tip of her pen, "Go on, have a seat. We need to talk."

Nova slowly made her way forwards, "Just a few more steps." Ava guided her. Nova listened.

She grabbed onto the back of the chair, hesitating. "Its okay, I won't bite. I just wanna talk, that's all."

Nova proceeded to pull the chair out, and sat down. "So... what do you want?" Nova raised a brow, curiously.

"I wanted you to know, that you getting stung wasn't apart of the plan."

"What do you mean?" Nova wondered.

Ava Paige continued, "One of our workers lost control of that Griever, and in the other room I was watching you on the one of the many monitors. And it scared me, so I ran into the room and told them to call the Griever back before it was too late."

Ava sighed sadly. Lastly adding, "But then I saw you had gotten stung, and I was disappointed at my workers for failing to stop the creature in time. Thomas stabbing himself, that was supposed to happen. You getting stung and remembering? That wasn't. You weren't supposed to remember until Phase-Two."

"Maybe even phase-three, if I saw that you were ready." Ava leaned on the table, with her hands. She was clearly frustrated with herself, for not being able to stop what happened.

Nova shook her head, bewithered. "I-I don't understand..."

"You do, you just don't want to." Ava was so calm. Nova didn't know how she could be so shucking calm.

Ava seemed to do all of the talking, but Nova was okay with that. She didn't know what to say, she was speechless.

"Do you remember why I put you in with the Gladers?" Ava asked.

Nova crossed her arms tightly. Eyebrows furrowing in anger, "No."

Ava grinned again, "You do." She tightened her hands on the table. "Those Cranks are very dangerous, I want you to understand that I'm just trying to protect you."
