Gally groans at the sudden movement, as his body hits the sand hard. He lays on his right side, "Good, you're getting better."

Nova grins at the compliment, it was only a year of practice, and she already had it in the bag.

Oh, but of course, her pride is instantly destroyed once Gally twisted his body around in one swift motion, wrapping his legs around her own. And she is knocked to the ground for the twentieth time that year.

"You're good," Gally breathes, standing to his feet. "But, you aren't good enough." He brushes himself off.

He then adds, "Yet." Giving her that one hint of hope.

Nova smiles as they finish off for the night, until next time. She heads into the homestead to get herself some water, as her throat that was dryer than a sauna craved it. It begged for it. Longed for it.

Noticing Newt had been there as well, sitting silently on the edge of a bed as he sighs, she knew him too well at this point. Nova was curious, "Newt, your up late."

At first he didn't answer. "Nova, may I ask you a question?"

Nova nodded, "Of course." She takes a seat right next to him, as the bed sunk lower.

"What is the meaning of life?" He asked.

Nova parted her lips, but didn't say a word. She had yet to find out the answer herself, so she was on the same boat.

Newt notices this, and changes the question. "Do you like me?"

Nova's cheeks heated to a deep red, she didn't know how to answer that one either. She was stumped.

And as though he had read her mind; "I caught on a few months ago, but I never had the courage to actually say anything, to be bloody honest with you."

"Newt," Nova whispered, but couldn't finish.

"Do I like you?" He assumed. But, that wasn't her words. That's not her sentence.

"I don't know what to feel anymore," His breath shook, almost as though the tears were going to fall. "After what had happened, after what I-I tried to-" He struggled to say. "-to do, I don't-" He didn't let himself finish, he let out a hard sigh.

This was exactly why she felt the way she did, Nova loved how sentimental Newt was. And this moment was special to her, in a way. It was such a sad moment, yet, it made her smile.

She could feel the light vibrations of Newt's hand shaking, he was disappointed in himself and so out of place, he didn't know what to do, or how to cope with it all.

And so, Nova decided to sooth his nerves. And she carefully took his hand into her's, this time it having a true purpose, and not just for letter's.

This caused Newt to lightly smile, he was almost glad she couldn't see it. She tightened her fingers around his, as their hands were intertwined completely. And Newt did the same.

It was a moment Nova never wanted to forget, never ever. It would break her heart if she did...

After a few ongoing thoughts and hesitation, she felt the time was right.

Nova leaned in, brushing her lips lightly against Newt's right cheek. And for a moment, she gave it some more thought, with nothing being heard but a light breath in the dark sorrowful moment.

And she kissed his cheek with the intentions of helping him know how to feel again, to make her mark.

Nova gave one last smile before standing up, and leaving the homestead for Newt to rest for as long as he needed.

Newt was in shock of the small moment, his eyes wide. But the moment he realized what truly had just happened, he relaxed, his eyes going back to normal and shoulder's slouching.

The small smile appeared again, with red cheeks.

And for once, he could feel again.
