By the next morning, Nova was even more exhausted than she was yesterday. She had regretted not getting any sleep, but all the while, it didn't bring her mind into caring one bit. She was both frustrated and annoyed.

Within two hours of the day already going by - constantly thinking she could've been running the Maze trying to find a way out with Minho - Nova had been dressed and ready. And she's spent most of her time following Frypan around his kitchen, with crossed arms, as he explained the basics.

"Hey, Fry," Nova spoke, having a sudden memory.

"Yeah?" He wondered.

"Do you remember when I was  first sent here, to the Glade, and when I was trying to get sorted into a fitting job." Nova explained. "How you tried to teach me, but it all went to klunk?"

Frypan let out a sly snicker, "Yeah..." He nodded. "... Yeah, I do, actually."

"Good." Nova gigged nervously, remembering that dreadful memory, filled with unsustainable embarrassment, that will last for eternity in her brain, unless stated otherwise.

"Come here," He said. Nova did as told.

A counter had been in front of her, and she was curious on what he was gonna have her do for her first day of being a cook.

"Do you trust me?" He asked. She smiled with a nod.

Frypan grasped Nova's hands with his own, and guided them to each destination. Her left hand now holding on to a block of cheese, and her right holding the handle of a knife. Nova was skeptical, but, she remained to trust him.

"You don't have to do much, I'm just going to guide you." He said. Nodding was all Nova did, not knowing what she could put into words in such a small moment.

And in one swift motion, he helped her grate the cheese with a knife. This was the safest way she could learn. With her ill vision, he didn't want her to get hurt.

Newt wouldn't be a happy Glader if something were to happen, being second-in-command and all.

Sure, Newt and Nova weren't on the best terms at this very moment, since they did have a small argument over something so little last night. But, nonetheless, he still cares.

At least it seems so little to me, She thought. But, maybe not, now that I really think about it.

As time passes, Frypan walks all around the kitchen, and has Nova confused and isolated. She didn't know what to do next or where to go, so, she waited.

Until finally - he brings her over to another counter. With a toaster, and some bread next to it on a paper plate.

"You're in charge of toasting the bread," Frypan said. "I'll do the rest, and prepare the other food."

He walked away, only to turn back around. "Oh, and one last thing."

Nova just listened.

"Try not to burn my bread this time around." That was his only request.

Nova laughed, remembering the past, "No promises."

Frypan only smiled, and walked to another station of the kitchen, on the other side to do his job.

Maybe this won't be so bad after all. She thinks.

***

Around two-hours later was when the noise of metal grinding against metal echoed all throughout the Glade, and it strummed everyone's curiosity nerve. Shouts of confusion struck the air, as footsteps ran towards the middle of their home.

"What the shuck?" Frypan said. "It hasn't even been a month yet, let alone two weeks, and the box is coming up already?"

Nova was just as confused.

Nova and Frypan ran out of the kitchen, and walked to the box, as all the boys surrounded it, as though treasure was hidden inside.

Frypan stopped at the edge of the box, as Nova kept walking. He noticed, and quickly brought an arm out in front of her, to keep her from falling in. And her feet stopped, as she waited for anything to happen.

"It's another girl," Newt Said, dumbfounded.

He then grabbed a small piece of paper, in the girl's hand. "She's the last one," Newt dragged on, looking up at everyone. "Ever." He finished, with a slight pause.

"What the hell does that mean?-" The moment he said that, he flinched as the girl gasped sharply for air. As he proceeded to quickly look down at her, with a shocked expression.

It was hard for Nova to sense that the girl was even there, as it wasn't the easiest to sense a hole in the ground such as the Box. She tried to get closer, to sense the knew Greenie that had been the same gender as her, only to forget that it was a big hole, and she was about to fall right in. Which would cause pain, as that's a nasty fall, with a metal grate below.

That is until, Frypan wraps his arms around her, to keep her from falling, again. Nova grasped onto his arm around her waste, for support, as her breath hitched at the sudden movement. Soon calming down, once she figured out who it was.

The girl in the Box sucked in air like her life depended on it, not worrying whether she'd get lightheaded or not.

"Thomas," She choked out.

And, with a few more distinguished breath's that gagged from her throat, the girl passed out. Which was very abnormal, no one has passed out just like that, ever before. Not that they knew of, at least.

All eyes were on Thomas, except for Nova, she just stared into blank space, right where the Box should be. As Frypan still held onto her, to keep her from going any further forward.

And from that moment on...

Thomas was no longer the new Greenie.
