Today, I only had one book in my hand. Normally, I had a tower threatening to tumble over, but only one caught my eye. I knew I would read it in less than a week, so I was hoping that there would be some better books next time I come to Barnes and Noble. Which would be tomorrow.

The lady in front of me was currently talking to the cashier and has been for about ten minutes. I'm a pretty patient person, but I just wanted to get back home and read my book. I sighed and tapped my foot lightly, blowing my long, curly hair out of my face. I played with the sleeves of my flannel as I waited for the lady to finish checking out.

"That's a good one."

I flinched once I heard someone's voice from beside me. I looked over to see a boy who looks to be my age. He had dark brown eyes, brown hair, a sharp jawline and a cute smile.

Holy cow, he's like the boys I read about it books! He's so cute and handsome, it's like someone put all of the perfect details and features into one person.

Davina, it's not the time to fangirl. Respond to him!

"What?" I asked him.

He pointed to the book in my hands, "That book, it's a good one. I read it a couple weeks ago."

I nodded and nervously bit my lip. Normal cute boys don't just talk to me. Plus, I wasn't that great at holding a conversation. I can get to shy and nervous or just make it awkward. I clutched the book in my hands and held it to my chest.

"You read romance?" I asked because the teenage boys that I know don't even touch a book, let alone read a romance novel.

He nodded and chuckled lightly, "Sometimes, yeah."

I smiled, "You're different from most teenage boys." I let my thoughts escape my lips.

"And you're different than most teenage girls." He said.

I raised my brow at him, confused. I was mediocre, nothing special. "How, you don't even know me."

"I have a feeling." He said and smiled at me, showing his perfect teeth.

Is there nothing about him that isn't perfect?!

"So, uh, what's your name?" He asked.

"You're next, miss." The cashier said, interrupting my conversation with the cute boy. I nodded and then stepped forward, setting the book on the counter and reaching in my pocket for money.

"I got it." The boy said and handed the cashier some dollar bills.

I gaped at him, "No, I can't let you-"

"No, it's okay." He smiled at me and the cashier handed me a bag with my book in it. "So, what's your name?" He asked me again.

I was about to answer him, but my phone went off. I quickly fished it out of my back pocket and looked to see that my mother texted me to come home immediately. I shoved it back in my pocket and looked back up at the boy.

"Sorry, I have to go." I said and was about to walk out of the store, but his voice caused me to turn in my tracks to face him.
