"Jc, please tell us!" Rachel begged again, pleading with puppy dog eyes. "What's it gonna take for you to tell me who the girl is?"

Jc held his hands up in surrender, "Look, Rach, I would love to tell you so you would stop obsessing over it. But like I said, Kian will beat the shit out of me if I told you anything."

The three of us were currently sitting in the back of the chemistry lab, using the remaining minutes to talk about what went down at lunch just over an hour ago. Rachel asked Jc about fifteen times to tell him about Kian's potential homecoming date, but he hasn't changed his mind. Not even when she offered him free tacos.

"Give it up, he's not going to tell you." I said to her.

She rolled her eyes at me, "Come on, I know you wanna know."

I shook my head, even though what she said was true. I wanted to know more than anyone, but I couldn't tell her that. I'll never hear the end of it, she'll tease me forever. And I can't even imagine what Selena and Emilee would do.

Jc sighed, getting our attention. "I'll give you one hint. Just one." He said. Rachel squealed and smiled widely as he thought of a hint. "She's in our Health class."

She quickly turned and faced me. "You're in his Health class."

"So are twenty other girls." I said.

She groaned, "You're such a Debby Downer. We all know it's you, who else would he ask?"

I shrugged, "I don't know, maybe some popular chick?"

She rolled her eyes again, "There's no fucking way Kian Lawley would ask out one of those bitches instead of you."

"Dude, chill out." Jc chuckled. "Besides, popular girls aren't really his type." Rachel gave me a knowing look along with a big smile. I just sighed and looked down at my hands in my lap. I tried not to get my hopes up about this whole Kian-asking-me-to-homecoming thing. What if he ends up asking another girl? Then I'll be hopeful and happy for nothing.

The bell rang and everyone got up and left the classroom. I followed Jc and Rachel out the door and walked to my next class.

Kian insisted on walking me home from school today.

I don't know why, he just walked up to my locker after eighth period and basically told me he was walking with me. I decided not to question it since I like spending time with him, one of the things that happens when you have a crush.

"You know I take the bus, right?" I asked him as we walked out of the school's parking lot.

He nodded, "Yeah, but I don't."

I raised a brow at him, "So?"

"So this way, I can spend time with you." He said, causing me to blush and look down at the ground, trying to hide my smile.

"What about your car?" I asked him, changing the subject.

"Jc's driving it home." He answered. I nodded and we fell into a comfortable silence, but that was short lived, of course. "You going to homecoming?" He asked.

I shrugged, "I don't know yet. I haven't really thought about it." That was a lie. I've thought about whether he was going to ask me or not and if we would go together. I couldn't tell him that, I couldn't tell anyone.

"Would you go if someone asked you?" He asked, his head bowed and his hands in his pockets.

"Yeah, maybe. Depends on who asks." I said. He nodded and continued to look down at the ground. I did the same. "Did you ask your mystery girl yet?" I asked him.
