hey, i'm sorry i haven't updated anything in so long. writing has been very difficult for me lately since i'm at a place in both of my stories where i know where i want to go with them but i don't know how to get there. i think about it all the time and whenever i tried to write another chapter, i hated the outcome and either deleted it or left it unfinished. but i'm going to try to keep writing and updating, so please enjoy this chapter cause there's more to come :)

"Babe, there's something in the mail from Emilee and Shawn." Kian's voice rang through the small apartment, causing me to put aside my laptop and walk over to where he was standing in the kitchen.
"What is it?" I asked as he opened the envelope. As we both peered over the paper in his hands, shock and confusion filled my body as I read the words.
You're invited to the wedding of Emilee Jones and Shawn Mendes.
"When did they get engaged?" Kian mumbled as he read over the wedding invitation.
"When did they move in together?" I added on, seeing that the return address belonged to both of them. "I wonder why they didn't tell us earlier..."
Their wedding was set for November 7, nearly six months away. At least they weren't eloping, because that's definitely something Emilee would do just to be with Shawn.
"Well, she meant it when she said she was going to marry him right out of high school." I laughed it off and hung the invitation on the fridge door. "I'm gonna call her real quick." I said to Kian, kissing his cheek before going back into the living room and grabbing my phone.
The line rang for a few moments before Emilee picked up with a cheery voice. "Hey, D."
"Hello, Mrs. Mendes, I have something to discuss with you."
She giggled before responding. "I figured you would. Did you get your invitation?"
"Yes, I did. You have some explaining to do, because we're out of the loop."
"You're right, I'm sorry I didn't call earlier. I just kinda got caught up in everything. He proposed, like, five days ago, and we decided to set a date right away. Oh! That reminds me, I have something to ask you." She was talking so fast, I could barely keep up.
I chuckled lightly, amused by her excitement. "Okay, shoot."
"Will you be my maid of honor?"
I was silent for a few seconds, the shock of the whole situation hitting me again and again. "Really, you want me to do it? What about Selena?"
"She hates weddings. I'm lucky she's even going to be there. Oh! Guess what?"
I took a breath. "Is there something else I don't know?"
"Yes! Selena and Jc are together."
"Wait, what? I thought she rejected him after, you know..."
"She did," Emilee said. "But a couple weeks after you and Kian left, he went to her house and they talked for hours. By morning, they were in a relationship."
My sister crossed my mind, and I instantly got worried. Her friend and her ex are officially together, I knew she couldn't be handling that well. "How's Rachel doing?"
Emilee sighed, making me grow more tense. "She could be better. But I'm pretty sure she's been seeing someone, at least that was the case last time I saw her. But she kind of keeps to herself now and days." I kept quiet, letting everything roll around in my head. My thoughts were interrupted by Emilee's cheery voice. "You never answered my question!"
