Part Thirty-Six
Harry's arm wraps around my body, mine resting around his waist, our hands still entwined together at my right side. I rest my head on his chest, his footwork horrible, yet expected. My eyes continue to stay closed as his attempt to dance carries me, obviously very unsure of what to do with himself. His head rests on top of mine, occasionally pressing kisses to the top. We stay in the little group of people, the slow dances staying on into the night, the crew eventually dancing together in the end.
"What's on your mind?" he whispers in my ear, Harry's lips brushing against my cheek and leaving a soft kiss to the warm skin.
"You," I tell him, his hand pressing to the middle of the top of my back, placed between my shoulders. His hand lightly runs through the ends of my hair, the other bringing my hand to his lips, kissing the back of it.
"Come on, I'm going to take you back," he whispers, letting go of my body after almost a half hour of dancing together. I really am shocked he even offered to dance, but I am happy he did. It was the most comforting moment I have ever felt, my mind completely fading all thoughts, only focusing on him.
Harry leaves a twenty at the table, the leftovers remaining on our places. I grab his hand as we walk out, running to the car again due to the rain. We get into the car and we both start laughing, our bodies completely soaked, Harry not seeming to care about getting his nice car wet.
"That was fun," I tell him, his hand turning the key in the car. He laughs and lets go of the steering wheel, the car braking, his hands grabbing my cheeks and pressing a kiss to my lips. I look up at him after he does so and he smiles, pecking my lips one last time.
He turns his focus back on the car, backing up and pulling onto the road, his hands tightening every time lightning flashes and light rumbles appear through the sky. I lay my head on the cold window and grab onto his, his hand wrapping around mine.
"Thank you," he whispers, a smile appearing on my lips before falling asleep against the window, too tired to keep my eyes open.

I wake, feeling the bed jolt, my body turning to see what happened. Harry's body is glistening in sweat, his hands rubbing his face and tugging at his hair. I place a hand on his back, his body flinching but relaxing after a second, calmness surging through his body.
"What's the matter?" I whisper, sitting up, my body slightly behind his, and kissing his shoulder, wrapping my arms around him from behind.
"I-I don't want to be afraid anymore," he whispers, my hands gripping opposite sides of his body. I continue to kiss his shoulders and neck, his muscles relaxing.
"Then fight Harry. You are strong enough to do anything and I know that you can overcome this. I understand the fear, the horrible pain you have, but I know you can get through it. You protected me last night from the man who caused this pain, and I know you can protect yourself. You are safe with me and I will be here for you, because I believe in you."
His trembling body now completely relaxed and his calm breathing ringing through my ears, letting me know he's okay from his nightmare. My hands move back, running along his back, trying to relax him even more.
"Beth?" he whispers, my eyes looking at his head hanging low and his eyes closed.
"Yes?" I respond, unsure of where this is going.
"Do you feel the same about me?" he asks, my heart racing and my eyes closing, shock ridden in my actions.
"I-I don't know."
