Chapter Six

Colton's POV:

I woke up at 5:00 am, groaning and stretching my stiff joints. Then I remembered last night and sat bolt upright. I get to teach Penny how to surf today. I want to take her to the fair that just came into town too. That would be such a fun time, maybe even more fun than last night. Thinking back to last night made my heart race. She was so beautiful; I couldn't believe she moved in five doors down.

I got up and threw a pair of light blue and white bathing suit bottoms on and a white tee-shirt. Threw a towel in the 1982 red Chevy pick up. Grabbed my long red and white surfboard and my other dark blue and white surfboard for Penny. Laying them in the bed of the truck and slightly on the roof, I walked back inside to grab a banana and a yogurt for breakfast.

Looking at the time, I ate a little faster. At 6:55, I walked back outside to see the sun start to rise. Walking to my truck, I jumped in and awoken the beast. I drove five doors down, jumped out and knocked twice before walking in.

I walked to the kitchen and found Penny in a tight, white swim shirt and light blue bikini top under it, with black shorts. Not even noticing Trevor and Gavin leaning on the counter next her.

"Morning," I said only looking at her. Trevor cleared his throat and chuckled, making Penny's face red. I started laughing along with him, "Ready to go?" I asked, "I have a board for Penny so you two just need to put your boards in the back of my truck,"

"Sounds good," Gavin said walking to the garage to get their surfboards.

"Come on," I said taking Penny's hand in mine and leading her to my beat up truck.

"Crap," Trevor said when he saw me and Penny come out of the house, "We aren't going to be able to fit. We can barely fit with the three of us let alone four people," He said frowning.

"I got an idea," I said smiling ear to ear, "Trevor you drive, Gavin you sit in the middle and Penny can sit on my lap," I stated. Seeing her blush just made my smile bigger. Sliding into the passenger seat and dragging her small frame onto my lap, not buckling the seat belt, but wrapping my arms around her instead.

It only took around 10 minutes to get to the beach. When we did get there I didn't want Penny to get out. I was so warm and comfy with my arms wrapped around her, but she opened the door and hopped out.

"Come on! Let's go! The water looks amazing today!" Gavin said grabbing his board and running to the ocean. Trevor grabbed his board and started walking. Reaching to grab both mine and Penny's board, I handed it to her. She looked amazing carrying the board, it had to be twice the size of her, but she carried it on her hip.

Once we got to the ocean, she looked over at me and questioned what she should do. "Do what I do," I said as I ran until I was knee deep, then jumped on my stomach, throwing my board down in the water. I looked back and Penny was laying on her stomach on the board, the biggest smile on her face. I showed her how to paddle with her hands and how to sit on the board while waiting for good waves. When I found one I wanted to go for I told her to watch and try the next one after mine.

I started paddling on my stomach again, getting to the hard part, I quickly leaned on my arms and pushed myself to my feet riding the wave to shore before jumping off into the warm clear blue ocean.

"Now you try!" I screamed cupping my hands around my mouth. Watching her turn around like I did and try to stand up, she didn't do half bad. Unlike a lot of the people who start out surfing, she could actually stand up, now it was a matter at how long she can stand up for. She rode in almost until she got to me but fell off a little sooner.

Coming up to the surface she smiled at me. "I'm a fast learner," She said wadding over to me, pushing her board along.

"I can see that," I said laughing.

After a few hours of surfing, falling, riding in waves, and having fun, we made our way back to my truck. The beach was starting to fill up with tourists and the regulars. I grabbed two towels, one for me and one for Penny. Handing it to her and taking her board, she wrapped it around her small body frame.

"What are you doing later?" I asked before the boys could catch up to us.

    "Nothin," She said, "Why?"

"I was wondering if I could take you out again," I said giving her the most daring and flirtatious smile I could.

Smiling back she replied, "I would love to. Where do you want to take me tonight? Or is it a surprise again?"

"Oh it's a surprise," I said smirking at her.

"At least tell me how to dress," She said giving me puppy dog eyes. Wow you could melt in her eyes.

"Dress casually, like you would be going to school," I said thinking after a second.

"What are you two love birds doing?" Gavin said skipping over like a little school girl. Penny's face got bright red and she turned toward him and smacked his arm. "What was that for?" Gavin whined. I laughed and climbed into the truck, leaving the door open for Penny to climb on my lap.

"What time are you picking me up?" She asked climbing in. I wrapped my arms around her and I could feel her relax.

"I was thinking around 4?" I asked as the guys climbed in.

"That would be perfect. I could spend time with my aunt and uncle," She said biting her lip.

"What are you two planning now?" Trevor asked wiggling his eyebrows, pulling out of the parking lot.

"I'm taking Penny out tonight," I replied glancing over at him.

"The only reason I'm not punching your face right now, is because your my best friend, and I can trust her with you," He sighed.

I laughed at his response. Hearing a soft snore I look at Penny and find her asleep on my chest.

"Dude, you try anything with her, I swear I will mess up your face so much you'll be confused where your eyes are," Gavin said looking at me.

"Gavin, I already heard this from your brother," I sighed, "I really like her. I would never even think about hurting her," I said looking down on her peaceful face.

"Good," Trevor and Gavin said at the same time as we pulled up to their house. I opened the door, lifting Penny up bridal style and carrying her into the house.

"Just take her to her room, you know where it is," Trevor said waving a hand and walking toward the kitchen.

I walked up the steps and down the hall. She felt so light in my arms, so perfect and fragile.

I took the towel off of her and put on a dry robe not wanting to change her. I laid her on her bed and tucked her in, kissing her forehead and turning to leave.
