Chapter Twenty
Colton’s POV:
She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. She was absolutely stunning in her dress. The light blue made her eyes and tan pop and it hugged all of the right places. I’m so happy she finally listened to me! I felt so relieved and happy and now we could relax and have a good time at this wedding. Sure Clover looked beautiful too but nothing compared to Penny.
After she stepped out of the car I took her small hand in mine and led her to the front door of the country club. I smiled when she didn’t pull away from my hand. Thank god she forgave me, I thought. I still couldn’t believe the nerve Sarah had coming back and claiming me as hers.
Walking into the cool air conditioning felt so good. Clover and Ryan walked in fight after us. Ryan was holding Clover’s hand just as I was Pennys’. I smiled at them who they both saw us and smiled widely back.
“I see Romeo and Juliette are back together,” Clover regarded smirking at Penny who gave Clover a pointed look. I laughed and squeezed her hand.
“OH COLTON!” I heard the familiar high pitched voice ring out across the long hallway. Oh hell no, this is not happening tonight.
I felt Penny’s hand tighten out of anger turning around finding out who called my name. Her face got bright red as Sarah ran, literally was sprinting, over to us. I braced myself for the bodyslam but she skidded to a stop when she saw that I was holding Penny’s hand.
“What are you doing with her?” Sarah spat looking Penny up and down. Wait why was Sarah here?
“The more important question is who invited you to my Uncles wedding?” I asked frowning.
“Your cousin,” She said simply flashing her smile that I would have fallen for only a year ago.
“I did NOT invite YOU,” Ryan said looking disgusted at the thought.
“Oh, I’m not talking about Ryan,” She smirked, then it hit me. She was here with Ryan’s brother, Tristan. Tristan looked nothing like Ryan, he was short and skinny. He always wore skinny jeans making him look even skinnier. He had brown slightly curly, puffy hair and always wore beanies. So pretty much the average skater boy look.
“You’re here with Tristan?” Ryan said getting angry. Him and Trevor were the only two people about how much I actually cared for Penny and he felt the same way about Clover, so my guess as to why he’s this angry is because he’s putting himself in my shoes.
“Yeah, and let me tell you,” She paused for ‘effect’,“He is H. O. T. HOT,” She spelled every letter out then emphasized the word.
“Are you drunk?” I asked confused. She was always telling me how much Tristan got under her skin.
“Nope,” She smiled kissing my cheek before sashaying off. That was strange I thought frowning. Penny’s hand loosened her grip and gave me a questioning look.
“Well that was weird,” Clover was the first one to talk. Everyone was still looking at where she had gone.
“Really weird,” Ryan agreed pulling Clover over to the doors to party room. Penny and I followed. We walked in and found ourselves overwhelmed by the smell of sweat mixed with alcohol and a loud music. I guess we completely missed the elegant part of the wedding and just made the partying part.
“Wow,” Penny said and was ripped from my hand by Clover who was already dragging her to the dance floor. Ryan and I looked at each other and laughed. Those would be our girls.
We both walked to get them cold drinks and motioned them over when they looked our way. Penny having a relieved look on her face while Clover had an annoyed look on her face as Penny dragged her over to us.
“I thought you guys would like a drink,” I said smirking at Penny’s face.
“No! All I want to do is danceeeeee,” Clover said dragging out the word.
“Why don’t you give Penny a break and I’ll go dance with you,” Ryan said and was soon being dragged back out to dance floor leaving me and Penny laughing at the look on his face.
She took the beer from my hands and chugging half of it. I gave her an astonished look and she just flashed her smile at me. All I could do was shake my head and smile back.
As a slow song came on I grabbed Penny’s hand and pulled her out to the dance floor and she tripped on her own feet only to fall into me as I caught her. She smiled sheepishly up at in my arms and I lifted her to a standing position.
“I can’t dance,” She said blushing. I shook my head.
“Put your feet on my feet,” I said in her ear. She stepped on my feet and I danced for both of us. She looked up at me astonished. I beamed down at her.
Okay, so my parents sent me to dance school. The only thing they actually wanted me to do, so up until I was in highschool, I was forced to go to dance class every Sunday and Wednesday. It was pure torture, but I was now very glad I went.
Before I saw her approach us, she came over, grabbed Penny by the shoulders and pulled her away from me only to place herself in my arms where Penny had just been. What the hell!
I pushed Sarah off of me and helped Penny who was now on the ground, her face very red.
“What the hell was that for?” She asked once she stood up and smoothed her dress over.
“I’m the only one that can dance with Colton,” She said and shrugged making Penny’s face an even brighter red.
“I’m sorry but you dumped him, he’s mine now bitch,” Penny said making my mouth pop open. I’ve never heard her curse at someone before, or not like that anyway. And wait did she just say I was hers?!
