Chapter Seventeen
Penny’s POV:
I laughed wiping away the tears while Clover told me of what happened. I would have given anything to see Clover punch that dick in the face. I could only imagine the look on his face when she did. And what she said about the screaming match she had with Sarah made me hate Sarah that much more. Nobody talks to my best friend like that.
As for Colton, I didn’t know what to feel. I really started to like him but he turned out to be just as bad as Johnny was.
“Why do I always go for the dicks?” I ask Clover, who laughed.
“I don’t know babe, but I’m determined to get you a good guy. You got me one,” She said pulling me off of the bed. It was around 11:30 now, “Get dressed,” She said smiling widely.
“Why? Where are we going?” I asked frowning at her. I didn’t feel like going out. I felt like crawling in a ball and crying myself to sleep.
“We are getting mani/pedi’s and then tonight I’m taking you out,” She said pushing me into the closet. I picked out a pair of faded high waisted booty shorts and a simple loose black short sleeved crop top with my black converse.
“You look hot,” Clover said smirking at me. She walked me into the bathroom and curled my blonde hair in big loose curls, then applied eyeliner and eye shadow.
“I made our appointment for 12:30. We got around half an hour so we better get going,” Clover said to me following me out of my room.
“Alright but I don’t have a car,” I said frowning again. She didn’t think this through.
“Oh don’t worry about that. I’m borrowing Ryan’s,” She said and smiled. I walked downstairs to find Trevor, Ryan, Gavin, Aunt Claire and Uncle Ben leaning against the counter talking.
“There she is,” Aunt Claire said, “You look great!” She said making me turn in a full circle.
“Thanks Aunt Claire,” I said giving her a small smile.
“Penny you should talk to Colton,” Trevor said frowning making me frown.
“I don’t want to talk to him,” I said cooly.
“Penny, he really needs to talk to you,” He said giving me a look. I gave the look right back, I don’t want to talk to that lying pig.
“Well I don’t want to,” I said standing my ground. I wanted to talk to him, but I know it’s not right.
“Fine,” He said crossing his arms and pouting. Geez he’s like a two year old.
“You girls get out of here and have fun!” Uncle Ben said before anything else could be said about the subject, handing me money and kissing my forehead as I said thanks.
“Before you go,” Aunt Claire said sliding a small box across the counter wrapped in wrapping paper.
“What’s this?” I asked looking down at it frowning.
“Just a welcome home present,” She said smiling.
“You already bought me a ton of clothes,” I said raising my eyebrows.
“Well this is from Uncle Ben,” She said smiling urging me to open it.
I slowly unwrapped it and gasped. It was the new iPhone C. I looked at them and they smiled at me. Clover was in Ryan’s arms smiling at me too.
“It’s your very own phone! It’s about time you got one!” Clover said as nobody moved. I never had a phone before. My parent’s thought it was a waste of money and time.
“Are you serious?” I said smiling from ear to ear.
“Yup and it’s already set up. You have a few contacts in there already,” Gavin said urging me to open the box. I opened it and turned the phone on, smiling the whole time.
“Thank you guys so much!” I said as I slipped the phone in my back pocket, thinking I’ll play with it while getting a pedicure but we had to go to make our appointment.
“Anytime honey,” Aunt Claire said hugging me.
“Bye,” Ryan said handing Clover the keys and kissing her lips softly, “Clov don’t hurt my baby!” He said after we were halfway out the door.
“I’ll try!” She said getting a devious look in her eye. We walked out to a 2014 Camaro Coupe 2SS.
My jaw dropped open. What is it with Trevor’s friends and their cars? It was black with black tinted windows and black rims. It was sick, but nothing compared to Colton’s car. Stop! I needed to stop thinking about him, he was with Sarah way before me, I thought a feeling disgusted all over again.
Clover groaned looking at me, “Don’t go all car fanatic on me,” I smiled at her.
“No promises,” I said smiling at her, climbing in the passenger side as she slid into the drivers seat. The car purred to life and we were off.
We were there within 5 minutes and we made the appointment, we sat down and I took my new phone from my back pocket. Playing with it, I got my first text. I saw Colton’s name come up and I groaned. He had my number? I looked at the text. It read: Penny, it’s Colton. I need to talk to you -Colton
I ignored it and focused on Clover who was smiling at me. “What?” I asked frowning at her.
“You’re gonna need to talk to him eventually,” I groaned. I didn’t want to talk about this right now.
“I don’t want to,” I whined.
“I agree that he made a dick move but you never know what he’s gonna say,” Clover said giving me a look. I knew she was right, I sighed. My phone started buzzing and when I looked at the screen I let out another groan. It was Colton.
“Answer it,” Clover said looking at me.
“No,” I said pushing end on the screen. We finished our mani/pedi’s and went out for ice cream.
We sat at rita’s and talked. We talked about everything and anything. We talked about Ryan, Lydia and Allison, my family, her family, summer and where we were going tonight.
We decided we were going to go to a club called Poison. Apparently it was pretty popular and tons of fun. Finishing our ice cream when my phone buzzed for the 100th time today and I pushed the end button for the 100th time today. Why can’t he just leave me alone!
